The name of the program was "Ar Staitse", which means "On Stage". He is accompanied by Andy Irvine: Bouzouki, Harmonica, Mandolin-Donal Lunny: Guitar, Bouzouki and Ary McGlynn: Pedal Steel Guitar. With these musicians he was also in the group Planxty.

Paul Joseph Brady (born 19 May 1947 in Strabane (County Tyrone)) is an Irish singer and songwriter. At the age of sixteen, Paul began performing as a pianist in a hotel in Donegal. He also performed with The Johnstons until 1974 as a guitarist and singer. His well-known album Andy Irvine & Paul Brady was released in 1976, which he now considers his best album. He was involved in various musical styles. In 2002 he performed Gaelic songs in Matthew Barney's film Cremaster 3.

Andy Irvine (born June 14, 1942 in London) is a British/Irish folk musician. He co-founded the band Planxty, among other things.
Irvine is the famous singer and bouzouki player of the equally famous Irish folk bands Planxty and Patrick Street. He also plays mandolin and harmonica. He was born in Highgate, London. His father is Scottish and his mother Irish. In the 1960s Irvine settled in the Irish capital Dublin. He regularly visited the famous folk pub O'Donoghue's to sing and play with other musicians. After various smaller performances in Ireland and abroad, Sweeney's Men was released in 1966, resulting in a first LP in 1968.

Dónal Lunny (born 10 March 1947 in Tullamore (County Offaly)) is an Irish folk musician. He is known as a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to making music and serving as a producer for various record companies. He started as a drummer in a school orchestra and soon showed an interest in the guitar. Thanks to Andy Irvine, he contributed to the rise of the bouzouki in Irish music. It would become Dónal's most important instrument for more than thirty years.

Arty McGlynn, one of the best known guitarists in the Irish music world, was born in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. His family is also musical, his father on the accordion and his mother on the violin; Arty was already playing reels on the accordion when he was five years old. He started playing the guitar at the age of eleven. In the late 1960s he traveled through Great Britain and the United States and played with all kinds of bands. In 1979 he recorded his first solo album; McGlynn's Fancy. He has performed with Christy Moore, Paul Brady, Dónal Lunny and Liam O'Flynn. He became a member of Ireland's best-known bands: Planxty, Patrick Street, De Dannan and the Van Morrisson Band. In 1989 the album Lead the Knave was created with his wife, violinist Nollaig Casey. He also composed music for television documentaries and films.
