Neil Young - This Note For You

This song is Neil's shot at his contemporaries in the music business who sell their music for corporate ads. This song was originally released on the album "This Note's for You" in April of 1988.

Young remembers writing "This's Note's For You" while on tour: "I remember writing it in my bus, turning to my driver and saying, 'Jesus Christ, this must be the most idiotic fucking song I've ever written.' I still can't believe that such a dumb little song could have helped resuscitate my career the way it did."

This Note's for You is the 18th studio album by Canadian-American musician Neil Young, released April 11, 1988, on Reprise. The album marked Young's return to the recently reactivated Reprise Records after a rocky tenure with Geffen Records.

The Band recorded the song numerous times under the title "Don't Do It". The lead singer was Levon Helm, with backing vocals by Rick Danko and Richard Manuel. Different versions, both studio and live, appear on several of their albums and box sets, including the 1972 live release Rock of Ages. "Don't Do It" was the encore performed by The Band in Martin Scorsese's 1976 concert film The Last Waltz, though it was featured first in the film. Although it was not included on the 1978 soundtrack album, the track was included in the 2002 box set edition of The Last Waltz soundtrack.

Van Morrison - Summertime In England (Essen 4 April 1982)

One of my favorite VM songs. Beautiful performance with a great band. Special attention to Pee Wee Ellis

"Summertime in England" by Van Morrison is a poetic reflection on the beauty, history, and spirituality of England during the summertime. The song weaves together themes of nature, literature, art, and a deep sense of spirituality to create a rich tapestry of imagery and emotion.

Big hand for the band!!!

Common One is the twelfth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, released in 1980. The album was recorded over a nine-day period at Super Bear Studios, near Nice, on the French Riviera. Its title is in the lyrics of the song "Summertime in England": "Oh, my common one with the coat so old and the light in her head".
