Memphis '69: The 1969 Memphis Country Blues Festival

During this era of Memphis music history, most of the world thought of Elvis and his recent comeback in 1968. But as you’ll witness in this documentary, the actual Memphis was quite different.. Thanks to Fat Possum Records and everyone who worked on this and released yesterday.

Glen Hansard - Astral Weeks ( Van Morrison)

Glen Hansard (born 21 April 1970) is an Irish songwriter, actor, vocalist and guitarist for the Irish group The Frames, and one half of folk rock duo The Swell Season. He is known for his acting, having appeared in the BAFTA-winning film The Commitments

Astral Weeks (album Astral Weeks )

Morrison described the song "Astral Weeks" as being: "like transforming energy, or going from one source to another with it being born again like a rebirth. I remember reading about you having to die to be born. It's one of those songs where you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and that's basically what the song says." Morrison told Steve Turner that he was working on the song back in Belfast in 1966 when he visited painter Cecil McCartney who had drawings on astral projection "and that's why I called it "Astral Weeks"

One more Time - If you and i could be as Two - Gloria - Hey Girl - My lonely sad Eyes - Mystic Eyes.

In March 1967 Morrison did a short tour of the Netherlands backed by Cuby & the Blizzards and then left for New York to start his solo career.

Van Morrison has placed the break-up of Them in context: "There was no motive behind anything you did [back then]. You just did it because you wanted to do it and you enjoyed doing it. That's the way the thing started, but it got twisted somewhere along the way and everybody involved in it got twisted as well, including me."(1967) "You can't take something like that, put it in a box and place a neat little name on it, then try to sell it. That's what they tried to do. That's what killed Them."

Them (with Van Morrison)The Story.....(new /update 12 Sept - 2015)

The Gamblers speelden Amerikaanse rock 'n roll en rhythm and blues.

The Story Of Them

Don,t Start Crying Now/One Two Brown Eyes

Daarin was Them niet uniek.
