Sue Foley

Sue Foley performs at the Blue Door in Oklahoma City on January 28, 2024.

Sue Foley (born March 29, 1968)is a Canadian blues guitarist and singer. She has released 15 albums since her debut with Young Girl Blues (1992). In May 2020, Foley won her first Blues Music Award, in the 'Koko Taylor Award (Traditional Blues Female)' category

 Leif Grafix

Foley has won several awards and is one of the better roots and blues artists of the last thirty years. She is a triple talent as a composer, guitarist and vocalist. As with many blues women of the past, Sue Foley has a long history of challenging convention and is a positive role model for aspiring young female (blues) musicians.

Leif Grafix

It says a lot that Foley is supported on her recently released studio album by the crème de la crème of the Texan blues and rock scene. The most notable are ZZ Top'er Billy Gibbons, Jimy Vaughan and Chris Layton (T-Birds) and Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan). Hopefully back in Europe in the near future?

Gary Moore zou vandaag 72 jaar zijn geworden ,we zijn erg blij dat we zijn laatste concert in Nederland bijgewoond hebben. Gary R.I.P

Gary Moore R.I.P.

Our thoughts are with his children, family and friends at this sad time.

Gary Moore, RIP

Nat Meyers

With a swagger that leaps out of the speakers, Myers plays slide on his resonator guitar to a rhythm straight from the Delta. "Everywhere I been somebody being abused / Never gonna win some of us are born to lose / Just wanna have a little fun before we die / There never ever was no difference 'tween you and I," he sings, punctuating his message with finger picking that is as precise as it is intense.(NPR)

“People often tell me that my big mistake was not learning guitar right-handed,” he smiles. “But I counter them and say, ‘No, my big mistake was not learning guitar upside-down!’”(Nat Myers

I had the pleasure of attending a performance by Nat Meyers in my hometown of Middelburg (Holland). Beautiful stories about his origins, his Korean mother and above all beautiful songs and excellent guitar playing. I had a very pleasant evening with many old fellow citizens with this cheerful and original blueman!!

Terry Reid (feat.David Lindley) - Live Momtreux 1971

       Terry Reid - Guitar/Vocals.David Lindley - Slide guitar.Lee Miles - Bass.Alan White-Drums

What sad news to hear of the passing of my dear friend and former bandmate David Lindley. How blessed I was to have him in my band in the early 70’s. During that time we played the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival and there’s a live album of our show. We went on to play the first Glastonbury Festival too . David was a really gifted musician on any instrument with strings and  was so in-demand that he played with everybody. He made a huge contribution to both my River and Seed of Memory albums. Sincere condolences to his loved ones.Terry Reid

Terrance James Reid (born 13 November 1949), nicknamed "Superlungs", is an English rock vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist best known for his emotive style of singing in appearances with high-profile musicians as vocalist, supporting act and session musician. Small Faces

Small Faces were a British rock group from the 1960s. The members were Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Kenny Jones and Jimmy Winston. Their debut single, "What'cha Gonna Do About It", written by Ian Samwell, was released in 1965 and was a minor hit in their home country. Their next single, "I've Got Mine", failed to chart, and Winston left the band. Ian McLagan took his place, and they had a big hit in England with the song "Sha-La-La-La-Lee".

All or Nothing

The peak of their popularity was in August 1966 when "All Or Nothing" reached the top of the UK charts, subsequently becoming their only No. 1 hit. Their first album was "Small Faces", and proved to be very successful. After moving to the Immediate Records label of Rolling Stones' producer Andrew 'Loog' Oldham, the song they are still known for was released: "Itchycoo Park".

Itschycoo Park
In 1968 their fourth album, Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake, was released, one side of which was based on a fairy tale. The album received very good reviews and reached first place in England. The album also included the previously successful hit single "Lazy Sunday". The sentence "Lazy Sunday afternoon... I've got no mind to worry, close my eyes and drift away...." gives an image of the flower power period

Lazy Sunday
When Marriot suddenly left the band in 1969 and formed Humble Pie, the rest of the members attempted to continue Small Faces, recruiting Rod Stewart and Ron Wood. Shortly afterwards they changed their name to The Faces.

Dahoud Shaar -drums,Bill Atwood -trumpet ,James Trumbo - keys.

                                               Gloria

The Caledonia Soul Orchestra was the band created by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison in 1973. The band was named after an eighteen-minute instrumental outtake on the His Band and the Street Choir album.

     Cyprus Avenue

In 1973 Van Morrison and the Caledonia Soul Orchestra went on a three-month tour of the United States and Europe, the result of which was the live double album It's Too Late to Stop Now. The title is taken from the last line in the lyrics of one of Morrison's songs, "Into the Mystic" from the 1970 Moondance album. In live performances with the Caledonia Soul Orchestra, he would close the concert with a lengthened version of the Astral Weeks song "Cyprus Avenue" and then shout out "It's too late to stop now!" as he exited the stage.

I was lucky that I saw Van Morrison with his Caledonia Soul Orchestra perform in De Doelen in Rotterdam that same year, a beautiful stage. It was my first VM concert, many more would follow, about 30 times. The last was at North Sea Jazz 2023 also in Rotterdam.
