Willy DeVille "Mixed Up, Shook Up Girl":
Willy DeVille said about the song "Mixed Up, Shook Up Girl": "I know Mick Jagger likes it. It's about a woman I know who was drug addict. She was mixed up and she was shook up. That's what it's about."
In liner notes to the 2001 compilation album Cadillac Walk: The Mink DeVille Collection, Ben Edmonds relates how Mick Jagger dropped by the Hollywood recording studio where Jack Nitzsche was producing Cabretta:
Jack had assisted on several Stones sessions, and it was his collaboration with Jagger on "Memo from Turner" that had me connect him with Mink DeVille in the first place. Jack put on a reel to show off his present work. Jagger listened to a couple of songs with polite disinterest, nodding approvingly to "Cadillac Walk." But when "Mixed Up, Shook Up Girl" came rolling out of the playback monitors, Jagger was immediately out of his seat and moving to its bittersweet mid-tempo rhythms. He danced with a grace one seldom sees in his herky-jerk stage performances, enveloped in the music and oblivious to the rest of us in the room... It couldn't have been more perfect if I'd dreamed it

The Animals (feat.Eric Burdon) - Wembly Empire Pool (April 11,1965)
Eric Burdon - Hilton Valentine-Alan Price- Chas Chandler
Boom Boom Boom
One of the most important bands originating from England's R&B scene during the early '60s, the Animals were second only to the Rolling Stones in influence among R&B-based bands in the first wave of the British Invasion. The Animals had their origins in a Newcastle-based group called the Kansas City Five, whose membership included pianist Alan Price, drummer John Steel, and vocalist Eric Burdon. Price exited to join the Kontours in 1962, while Burdon went off to London.
John Steel
Don,t Let It Be Miss Understood
The Kontours, whose membership included Bryan "Chas" Chandler, eventually were transmuted into the Alan Price R&B Combo, with John Steel joining on drums. Burdon's return to Newcastle in early 1963 heralded his return to the lineup. The final member of the combo, guitarist Hilton Valentine, joined just in time for the recording of a self-produced EP under the band's new name, the Animals. That record alerted Graham Bond to the Animals; he was likely responsible for pointing impresario Giorgio Gomelsky to the group
Talkin About You
In May of 1965, immediately after recording "We've Gotta Get Out of This Place," Alan Price left the band, citing fear of flying as the reason; subsequent biographies of the band have indicated that the reasons were less psychological.
The lineup shifts continued, however: Steel exited in 1966, after recording Animalisms, and was replaced by Barry Jenkins, formerly of the Nashville Teens. Chandler left in mid-1966 after recording "Don't Bring Me Down," and Valentine remained until the end of 1966, but essentially "Don't Bring Me Down" marked the end of the original Animals.

Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay Buffalo Springfield Rehearsal 1986
//
In the summer of 1986, the original members of the Buffalo Springfield
met at Stephen Stills’ home to rehearse new material that Stephen and
Neil Young were working on and to make tentative plans to reunite for a
20th anniversary reunion tour. The 2 day practice session marked the
first time that the five founding members had played together since
their break-up in 1967. The rehearsals were kept a secret and my
understanding was that management was not keen on having the sessions
videotaped. However, after some deliberation, the band over ruled
management and decided that they wanted to document the get together. The practice session began with a “theme" that was in Neil’s head and moved onto Stephen shredding the guitar on a new blues tune that he was in the early stage of conceptualizing. In this clip, the band is working out the nuts and bolts on a new tune of Neil’s that he would later develop into “Road of Plenty” which made its performance debut during the Crazy Horse tour in November of 1986. The song would, subsequently, evolve into its studio version, “Eldorado”, which was recorded 2 years later and released in the states on Neil's Freedom album.

Junior Wells & Buddy Guy - Crying Shame
Filmed in a Chicago club as part of the
1970 documentary "Chicago Blues" featuring Junior Wells (harmonica and
vocals), Buddy Guy (guitar), David Myers (bass) and Sam Lay (drums)
Junior Wells and guitarist Buddy Guy
worked together frequently starting in the 1960s, and featured Guy on
guitar when he recorded his first album, "Hoodoo Man Blues" for Delmark
Records. Wells and Guy supported the Rolling Stones on numerous
occasions in the 1970s. Although Juniors albums "South Side Blues Jam"
(1971) and "On Tap" (1975) proved he had not lost his aptitude for
Chicago blues, his 1980s and 1990s discs were inconsistent. However
with his 1996 release "Come On in This House" he redeemed himself an
intriguing set of classic blues songs with a rotating cast of slide
guitarists, among them Alvin Youngblood Hart, Corey Harris, Sonny
Landreth and Derek Trucks. Wells made an appearance in the film Blues
Brothers 2000, the sequel to The Blues Brothers, which was released in
1998.
Wells continued performing until he was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 1997. That fall, he suffered a heart attack while undergoing treatment, sending him into a coma. Wells died in Chicago, after succumbing to lymphoma on January 15, 1998, and was interred in the Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago.

My Lagan Love (TheSweetthing2011) Thanks!!! album Irish HeartBeat
"My Lagan Love" is a song to a traditional Irish air collected in 1903 in northern Donegal. The English lyrics have been credited to Joseph Campbell (1879–1944, also known as Seosamh MacCathmhaoil and Joseph McCahill, among others). Campbell was a Belfast man whose grandparents came from the Irish-speaking area of Flurrybridge, South Armagh. He started collecting songs in County Antrim. In 1904 he began a collaboration with composer Herbert Hughes. Together, they collected traditional airs from the remote parts of County Donegal.
(TheSweetthing2011) Thanks!!
The title track, "Saint Dominic's Preview", was said by Morrison to have been composed after seeing an ad for a peace vigil to be held at St. Dominic's Church in San Francisco. The song is written in a "stream of consciousness" fashion as with the Astral Weeks songs. Lyrics in the song refer to different stages of Morrison's life: "chamois cleaning all the windows" (teenage years) and "The record company has paid out for the wine" (his contemporary status as a pop music star). Erik Hage calls it "expansive and groundbreaking, representing an enlarging scope and ambition in Morrison's music."

The Mahavishnu Orchestra
The Mahavishnu Orchestra was a fusion and jazz rock group active between 1971 and 1976. The band's leader was guitarist "Mahavishnu" John McLaughlin and its founding members were Billy Cobham (drums), Rick Laird (bass guitar), Jan Hammer (keyboards) and Jerry Goodman (violin).
This is the original line-up, great musicians with special attention to master drummer Billy Cobham! You Know You Know
I once saw the band "live" at a festival at the trot and racecourse in Hilversum in 1974. Jerry Goodman and Billy Cobham were no longer there, Jean Luc Ponty and Michael Walden were their replacements. In my memory a beautiful but also a very hard performance. By the way, it was a beautiful festival with Earth and Fire, Alquin (great) Tim Bucley, Dooby Brothers, Allman Brothers, and the closing act would be Van Morrison, unfortunately The Allman Brothers had played for a very long time, people complained. local residents about noise nuisance, so that was no longer possible.

Johnny Winter & Dr John - Live in Hamilton,Canada(studio) 23 Nov.1983
A Right Place At The Wrong Time
Malcolm John "Mac" Rebennack, Jr. (Geb.
Johnny Be Good
Junior Parker's song
John Dawson "Johnny" Winter III (Geb.
Talk To Your Daughter
