The Mahavishnu Orchestra

The Mahavishnu Orchestra was a fusion and jazz rock group active between 1971 and 1976. The band's leader was guitarist "Mahavishnu" John McLaughlin and its founding members were Billy Cobham (drums), Rick Laird (bass guitar), Jan Hammer (keyboards) and Jerry Goodman (violin). This is the original line-up, great musicians with special attention to master drummer Billy Cobham!

You Know You Know

I once saw the band "live" at a festival at the trot and racecourse in Hilversum in 1974. Jerry Goodman and Billy Cobham were no longer there, Jean Luc Ponty and Michael Walden were their replacements. In my memory a beautiful but also a very hard performance. By the way, it was a beautiful festival with Earth and Fire, Alquin (great) Tim Bucley, Dooby Brothers, Allman Brothers, and the closing act would be Van Morrison, unfortunately The Allman Brothers had played for a very long time, people complained. local residents about noise nuisance, so that was no longer possible.

Eric Gales - H.I.B.F Grolloo (Holland) 15 Juni 2019

                                foto,s Lenneke Vork

Johnny Winter & Dr John - Live in Hamilton,Canada(studio) 23 Nov.1983

A Right Place At The Wrong Time
Malcolm John "Mac" Rebennack, Jr. (Geb.

Johnny Be Good

Junior Parker's song

John Dawson "Johnny" Winter III (Geb.

Talk To Your Daughter

BOB DYLAN the songs from TELL TALE SIGNS

zijn,zoals gewoonlijk, allemaal even sterk.

Mississippi (Medford,Oregon 9 okt.2001)
Rolling Stone's Mikal Gilmore

...Tell Tale Signs is less an anthology than an album in its own right. It seems designed to tell a story that sharpens and expands the vista of mortal and cultural disintegration that has been the chief theme of 1997's Time Out of Mind, 2001's Love and Theft, and 2006's Modern Times - perhaps the most daring music he's ever made. Tell Tale Signs makes plain that Dylan knows the caprices of the world he lives in, now more than ever.

Dignity ( MTV Unplugged 1994)

Los Angeles Times' Robert Hilburn

Bob Dylan's latest collection of material from his musical back pages, "Tell Tale Signs: The Bootleg Series Vol. 8," is a rich, revealing look at how this master songwriter put together one of the most dramatic creative renaissances in pop history...."Tell Tale Signs" is not just "extra" Dylan. It's essential Dylan.

Most of the Time (with David Lindley)
The Independent's Andy Gill

The eighth instalment of Dylan's Bootleg Series covers the years spanning his 1989 return to form with Oh Mercy up to the present day, a period in which he managed to conquer a long-standing blight of writer's block, establish himself as the pre-eminent repository of American roots-music forms, and ultimately find the route to the Indian summer of Time Out of Mind, "Love and Theft" and Modern Times....It's a remarkable collection...

Ring them Bells (Dublin 13 Sept.200)
The Telegraph's David Cheal

There's stuff here that leaves the listener wondering: why have we never heard this before? What possessed him, for instance, to excise Red River Shore from his Time Out of Mind album? It's a haunting classic. Ditto the wistful Born in Time (from the Oh Mercy sessions)...what's captured here is the restless, questing creative spirit of the man. He never stops.

Someday Baby
The BBC's Chris Jones

If you love the trilogy of Time Out Of Mind, Love And Theft and Modern Times you're going to adore this. It lays bare the process that led Dylan to not only revisit the work that got him fired up in the first place but remake them in his own image: the Carter Family (Tell Ol' Bill) amongst many others...As a companion to his best work from the period this is essential. It even stands as a fine album on its own—the work of a man obviously in love with his muse once more, and totally unafraid of fessin' up to his roots. Beautiful, brave and beguiling.

God Knows (Praag 16 Juli 1994)

ROLLING STONE: "...Tell Tale Signs is less an anthology than an album in its own right. It seems designed to tell a story that sharpens and expands the vista of mortal and cultural disintegration that has been the chief theme of 1997's Time Out of Mind, 2001's 'Love and Theft', and 2006's Modern Times - perhaps the most daring music he's ever made. Tell Tale Signs makes plain that Dylan knows the caprices of the world he lives in, now more than ever."

Born in Time (Nashville 8 nov 1994)

SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE: "...there had never been anything quite like Bob Dylan in the 1960s, and there's nothing quite like him today."

Bob Dylan - "Blood In My Eyes"

foto © Ana María Vélez Wood

In 1993, Bob Dylan released his twenty-ninth studio album, World Gone Wrong, a solo acoustic album of blues and folk classics. Watch the official music video of 'Blood In My Eyes' now

.BLOOD IN MY EYES is one of two songs done by the Mississippi Sheiks, a little known de facto group whom in their former glory must've been something to behold. rebellion against routine seems to be their strong theme. all their songs are raw to the bone & are faultlessly made for these modern times (the New Dark Ages) nothing effete about the Mississippi Sheiks. (From World Gone Wrong Liner notes by Bob Dylan)

"Blood In My Eyes"

Woke up this morning, feeling blue
Seen a good looking girl, can I make love with you
Hey, hey, babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
Hey, hey, babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
I got blood in my eyes for you, baby
I don't care what in the world you do.

I went back home, put on my tie
Gonna get that girl that money will buy
Hey, hey, babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
Hey, hey, babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
I got blood in my eyes for you, baby
I don't care what in the world you do.

She looked at me, begin to smile
Said, "Hey, hey, man, can't you wait a little while ?"
No, no babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
No, no babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
Got blood in my eyes for you, baby
I don't care what in the world you do.

No, no, ma'am, I can't wait
You got my money, now you're trying to break this date
Hey, hey, babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
Hey, hey, babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
Got blood in my eyes for you, baby
I don't care what in the world you do.

I'll tell you something, tell you the facts
You don't want to give my money back
Hey, hey, babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
Hey, hey, babe, I got blood in my eyes for you
I got blood in my eyes for you, baby
I don't care what in the world you do.

Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey, live at The Lion,s Share ,San Anselmo California ( August 8th 1971)

-                                     Lion's Share, 60 Red Hill Avenue, San Anselmo, CA

The Lions Share was a tiny club at 60 Red Hill in San Anselmo. It was mainly a musicians hangout.
"" The atmosphere is dark with beam ceilings, brick walls, tiffany lamps and relaxed. There are some problems with the sound system, but none with the performers"

After the Goldrush - Trio (Emmylou,Linda,Dolly)

"After the Gold Rush" is a song written by Neil Young from the 1970 album of the same name. In addition to After the Gold Rush, it also appears on Decade, Greatest Hits and Live Rust.

After The Goldrush

Dolly Parton once commented about the making of her version of the song; "when we were doing the Trio album, I asked Linda and Emmy what it meant, and they didn't know. So we called Neil Young, and he didn't know. We asked him, flat out, what it meant, and he said, 'Hell, I don't know. I just wrote it. It just depends on what I was taking at the time. I guess every verse has something different I'd taken.'

"After The Goldrush"

Well, I dreamed I saw the knights
In armor coming,
Saying something about a queen.
There were peasants singing and
Drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree.
There was a fanfare blowing
To the sun
That was floating on the breeze.
Look at Mother Nature on the run
In the nineteen seventies.
Look at Mother Nature on the run
In the nineteen seventies.

I was lying in a burned out basement
With the full moon in my eyes.
I was hoping for replacement
When the sun burst thru the sky.
There was a band playing in my head
And I felt like getting high.
I was thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.
Thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.

Well, I dreamed I saw the silver
Space ships flying
In the yellow haze of the sun,
There were children crying
And colors flying
All around the chosen ones.
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun.
They were flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home in the sun.
Flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home.
