Shocking Blue was a Dutch rock band formed in The Hague in 1967. They were part of the Nederbeat movement in the Netherlands. The band had a string of hit songs during the counterculture movement of the 1960s and early 1970s, including "Send Me a Postcard" and "Venus", which became their biggest hit and reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and many other countries during 1969 and 1970. The band sold 13 million records by 1973 but disbanded in 1974.

Malcolm John Rebennack Jr. (November 20, 1941 – June 6, 2019), better known by his stage name Dr. John, was an American singer, songwriter and pianist. His music combined New Orleans blues, jazz, R&B, soul and funk.

as Dylan's 'First New York Concert' it was, more accurately, Dylan's
first concert anywhere. Prior to this show he'd only played club dates
and a few guest spots on multi-artist bills. Dylan arrived in New York
on January, 21, 1961 and began playing hoots at clubs like Gerdes Folk

1961.
The first seven songs were already into circulation among
collectors when five additional songs appeared in December 2004; a
further two (Talking Merchant Marine and Talking New York) turned up in May 2008. He Was A Friend Of Mine surfaced
in November 2021, sixty years after the concert, when the tape of the
performance was purchased by the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa.
Moby Grape is an American rock band founded in 1966. Part
of San Francisco's psychedelic music scene, the band merged elements of
rock and roll, folk music, pop, blues, and country. They were one of the few groups of which all members were lead vocalists and songwriters. The group's first incarnation ended in 1969, in part due to members Bob Mosley and Skip Spence suffering from mental illness

In late 2007, Classic Rock sat
down with Jerry Miller, Bob Mosley, Peter Lewis and Don Stevenson to
talk about their life with one of the great American bands of the 1960s,
Moby Grape. An influence on Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and Robert Plant,
the Grape were set for success after releasing their classic debut
album, but bad decisions, mishaps and chaos were to blight their career
from that moment on.
Based on a traditional folk melody, the song was released in 1963 by
Van Ronk on the LP Dave Van Ronk With The Red Onion Jazz Band. The song
was written by folk musician Len Chandler and the beat poet Bob
Kaufman.

article ranking "every Bob Dylan song" placed "That Lucky Old Sun" 56th
(out of 359), calling it "[t]he highlight of Dylan’s surprisingly great
album of classics from the American songbook". Critic Ray Padgett also considers "That Lucky Old Sun" to be the highlight of Shadows in the Night (as well as the best of all 52 of the songs that appear on Dylan's American Songbook albums)
