Jefferson Airplane - Holland Pop Festival (Kralingen Rotterdam 1970)

,,Ballad of you and me,, van het album After Bathing at Baxter.s

If you were a bird and you lived very high,
You'd lean on the wind when the breeze came by,
You'd say to the wind as it took you away,
That's where I wanted to go today"
And I do know that I need to have you around
Love like a mountain springtime,
flashing through the rivers of my mind;
it's what I feel for you.
You and me go walking south
And we see all the world around us,
The colors blind my eyes and my mind to all but you,
And I do know that I need to have you around,
And I do, I do know that I need to have you around.
I have a house where I can go
When there's too many people around me;
I can sit and watch all the people
Down below goin' by me;
Halfway down the stair is a stair
Where I sit and think about you and me;
But I wonder will the sun still see all the people goin' by.
Will the moon still hang in the sky when I die,
When I die, when I'm high, when I die?
If you were a cloud and you sailed up there,
You'd sail on water as blue as air,
You'd see me here in the fields and say,
"Doesn't the sky look green today

Rick Danko (December 29, 1942 – December 10, 1999)

Richard Clare"Rick"Danko (Geb.Greens Corner,Ontario,29 Dec1942 -Overleden inNew York op 10 dec.1999) Natuurlijk het meest bekend als bassist/zanger van "The Band".

Java Blues
Paul Butterfield - Harmonica, Vocals ,Rick Danko - Bass, Vocals ,Blondie Chaplin - Guitar, Vocals ,Rick Belke - Guitar ,Tom Stevenson - Piano ,Ron McRory - Drums. Live at?? 10-12-1979

I think Rick was one of the greatest and most soulful singers I've ever heard. Definitely, the most original bass player I've ever heard and one of the kindest hearts to have ever graced this planet."
(Robbie Robertson)

Stage Fright

Rick's singing had a tremendous influence on me - I think you have to be a great musician before you can sing like that." (Eric Clapton)

The Unfathfull Servant

Danko droeg daaraan als co-auteur o.a. de song This Wheel's On Fire bij.

Love You To Much

Just Your Fool (1987)

Vooral Robbie Robertson kreeg genoeg van het leven on the road.

Rick Danko R.I.P.

Freddy King - Ain't Nobody,s Bussines

 Freddie King (September 3, 1934 – December 28, 1976) was an American blues guitarist and singer. He recorded several hits for Federal Records in the early 1960s. His soulful and powerful voice and distinctive guitar style inspired many musicians, particularly guitarists. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

 "Ain't Nobody's Business" (originally "Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness if I Do") is a 1920s blues song that became one of the first blues standards. It was published in 1922 by Porter Grainger and Everett Robbins. The song features a lyrical theme of freedom of choice and a vaudeville jazz–style musical arrangement. It was first recorded, as "'Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness if I Do", in 1922 by Anna Meyers, backed by the Original Memphis Five.

Bonnie Raitt - Give It Up Or Let Me Go (Los Angeles. 1977-02-14)

 In 1977 the Dutch public broadcasting association VARA made a documentary called Wonderland, about then up-&-coming recording artists Warren Zevon, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt & Jackson Browne. Here is that film.  Give It Up Or Let Me Go (album Give It Up)
 Give It Up is the second album by Bonnie Raitt, released in 1972.

"Give It Up [comes] closest to perfecting her approach," wrote critic Dave Marsh for early editions of The Rolling Stone Album Guide. "She [mingles] her blues resources with a variety of contemporary and folk-oriented songs, coming up with classics in "Been Too Long at the Fair" and Eric Kaz's "Love Has No Pride". Her version of the latter remains definitive..." Robert Christgau echoed these sentiments in his Consumer Guide column and gave the album an 'A' rating. Rolling Stone critic Jon Landau also praised the album, writing that "the best thing about Bonnie Raitt is her singing, and the best thing about Give It Up is that she sings great from beginning to end; in doing so, she successfully handles a far greater range of styles and material than on her first album and has produced a more interesting and satisfying record in the process."[4] It was ranked as number 496 and in 2012 at #495 in the book version of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time

John Lennon - (9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980)

John Lennon Live in New York City 1972

Two concerts took place, in the afternoon and evening of 30 August 1972 .

"Mother"is  first released on his 1970 album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. An edited version of the song was issued as a single in the United States on Apple Records, on 28 December 1970.

  "Mother" is actually a cry to both his parents, who abandoned him in his childhood. His father, Alf, left the family when John was an infant. His mother, Julia, didn't live with her son, although they had a good relationship; she was hit and killed in a car accident on 15 July 1958 by a drunk off-duty policeman named Eric Clague, when Lennon was 17.
