A Change Is Gonna Come

"A Change Is Gonna Come" is a song by American recording artist Sam Cooke, released on December 22.
The song concerns African-Americans and contains the refrain, "It's been a long time coming, but I know a change is gonna come." The song was inspired by various personal events in Cooke's life, most prominently an event in which he and his entourage were turned away from a whites only motel in Louisiana. Cooke felt compelled to write a song that spoke to his struggle and of those around him, and he recorded the song for its first release on his final album, Ain't That Good News.

Kings Of Leon - Happy Alone (Bonnaroo 2004)

Kings of Leon is an American rock band that formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2000. The band is composed of brothers Caleb Followill (b. January 14, 1982, lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Nathan Followill (b. June 26, 1979, drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Jared Followill (b. November 20, 1986, bass guitar, backing vocals), with their cousin Matthew Followill (b. September 10, 1984, lead guitar, backing vocals).

The band's early music was a blend of Southern rock and blues influences, but it has gradually expanded throughout the years to include a variety of genres and a more alternative, arena rock sound. Kings of Leon achieved initial success in the United Kingdom with nine Top 40 singles, two BRIT Awards in 2008, and all three of the band's albums at the time peaked in the top five of the UK Albums Chart. Their third album, Because of the Times, also reached the number one spot. After the release of Only by the Night in September 2008 the band achieved chart success in the United States. The singles "Sex on Fire", "Use Somebody", and "Notion" all peaked at number one on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. The album was their first Platinum-selling album in the United States, and was also the best-selling album of 2008 in Australia, being certified platinum nine times. The band's fifth album, Come Around Sundown, was released on October 18, 2010. Their sixth album, Mechanical Bull, was released on September 24, 2013. The seventh studio album, WALLS, was released on October 14, 2016.^[1] The group has 12 Grammy Award nominations, including 4 wins.

John Hiatt - Crossing Muddy Waters

Crossing Muddy Waters was singer-songwriter John Hiatt's fifteenth album, released in 2000. A raw album recorded with no drummer, it was a purely acoustic album that brought elements of bluegrass music into his Americana sound. (The title of the album is a pun, referencing blues legend Muddy Waters.) It was nominated for a Grammy award in 2001 for Best Contemporary Folk Album.(Wikipedia)

Helaas staat het bij de laatste optredens van Van Morrison niet meer op de setlist ,InThe Afternoon,van het album Days Like this.Voor mij altijd een van de hoogtepunten van zijn shows meestal in lang uitgewerkte versies.Het onderstaand fragment is daar een mooi voorbeeld van,Van lekker in vorm,begeleid zoals gewoonlijk door een prima band.

Alweer zo,n 6 jaar met mijn blogje bezig,een leuke manier om met je favoriete muziek bezig te zijn.

Muziek blijf toch altijd boeien,meer dan 40 jaar concertbezoek,weer nieuwe artiesten ondekken het verveelt nooit.Veel van de clips en filmpjes die ik voor dit blog verzamelt heb staan gelukkig nog opgeslagen ,en ik vind het leuk om die nog eens te laten zien.

Jimi Hendrix - Foxy Lady

"Foxy Lady" komt van het album "Are You Exprienced" uit1967 .Het staat ook op albums als Smash Hits (1968/1969) en Experience Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix (1997). Rolling Stone magazine plaatste het nummer op 152 in hun "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" lijst.

"Old Man" komt van het nog steed ongelooflijk mooie album Harvest. uit 1972.

The Allman Brothers - Whippin Post

"Whipping Post" komt van het debuut album "The Allman Brothers" uit 1969.Het is geschreven door Gregg Allman.Op het het dubbel live album "At Fillmore East"is een maar liefst 23 min,durende versie te horen.

Susan Tedeschi - Live at Newport Jazz Festival 2007

Het Newport Jazz Festival wordt sinds 1954 elk jaar gehouden in de Amerikaanse plaats Newport (Rhode Island). Het festival werd opgezet door Elaine Lorillard.
In 1972 werd het festival een tijd in New York City gehouden. Sinds 1981 wordt het weer gedeeltelijk in Newport gehouden, in het Fort Adams State Park.
In de afgelopen jaren hebben vele bekende artiesten hier opgetreden, zoals Betty Carter, Bob Dylan, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Coleman Hawkins, Billie Holiday, Hank Jones, Steve Kuhn, Odetta, Arturo Sandoval, Louis Armstrong, Anita O'Day, Muddy Waters en Willie "The Lion" Smith.
