Ry Cooder’s “Tamp ‘Em Up Solid” is an updated rendition of a traditional American song that originated from railroad work chants. The earliest recorded versions are from 1930s field recordings made by John and Alan Lomax in the American south, including ones by ex-railroad workers Sam “Old Dad” Ballard and Henry Truvillion.

Little Village - Don't Think About Her When You Are Trying to Drive
Don't Think About Her When You Are Trying to Drive
Little Village is the only studio album by the band Little Village. The band, a super-group comprising Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Nick Lowe and Jim Keltner, released the album, went on a tour of the US and Europe to support it, and disbanded the year of its release. They had previously worked as a group while recording Hiatt's solo album Bring the Family in 1987. Although all songs are credited to all four group members, Hiatt sang all but three, with two sung by Lowe and one by Cooder. "She Runs Hot", "Solar Sex Panel" and "Don't Go Away Mad" were released as singles. The Solar Sex Panel EP contained a new non-album track "Do With Me What You Want to Do" written by Cooder/Hiatt/Keltner/Lowe and sung by Lowe, as well as a cover of the novelty song "Haunted House", originally released by Jumpin' Gene Simmons in 1964, and sung by Cooder. "Do with Me What You Want to Do" was also included as a B-side on the "Don't Go Away Mad" single (Wikipedia)
At the Grammy Awards of 1993, Little Village was nominated for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.vrijdag 9 december 2022

feat.Adrienne Hays -Guitar.Annie Rains -Harmonica
Tedeschi formed the Susan Tedeschi Band in 1993, with Tom Hambridge
and Adrienne Hayes. She learned how to play blues guitar in Boston from
musician Tim Gearan in 1995. In December 1993, the band released Better Days to regional audiences. Record contracts were difficult to keep together; however, recording sessions from 1997 were acquired by Richard Rosenblatt and the band was signed to indie label Tone-Cool Records. Just Won't Burn, featuring young guitarist Sean Costello, was released in February 1998 to very positive reviews, particularly from blues critics and publications.

Focus (feat.Philip Catherine) - Angel Wings (Live BBC 1976)
Angel Wings
On the eve of their sell-out UK tour, in February 1976, Focus' guitarist Jan Akkerman quit the band. Thijs van Leer managed to enrol Philip Catherine for the tour. By the time of the BBC 'In Concert' recording in March 1976 he was fully up to speed. Although some may miss Akkerman's flamboyance there is no denying that Catherine turned in a competent performance.

Howlin Wolf (Chester Arthur Burnett) Live!!
Performance at Big Duke,s Flamingo,Chicago Illiones
Chester Arthur Burnett (June 10, 1910 – January 10, 1976), known professionally as Howlin' Wolf, was an American blues
singer, songwriter, guitarist, and harmonica player. He is regarded as
one of the most influential blues musicians of all time. Over a
four-decade career, he recorded in genres such as blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and psychedelic rock. He also helped bridge the gap between Delta blues and Chicago blues. Born into poverty in Mississippi
as one of six children, he went through a rough childhood where his
mother kicked him out of her house, and he moved in with his
great-uncle, who was particularly abusive. He then ran away to his
father's house where he finally found a happy family, and in the early
1930s became a protégé of legendary Delta blues guitarist and singer, Charley Patton. He started a solo career in the Deep South, playing with other notable blues musicians of the era, and at the end of a decade had made a name for himself in the Mississippi Delta.
Chester Arthur Burnett (June 10, 1910 – January 10, 1976)
With a booming voice and imposing physical presence, he is one of the best-known Chicago blues artists. AllMusic has described him as "a primal, ferocious blues belter with a roster of classics rivaling anyone else, and a sandpaper growl of a voice that has been widely imitated"

John Prine & The Lost Dogs - Lake Marie
"Lake Marie" is arguably the album's most popular track. The song was inspired in part by Prine's crumbling marriage and a series of grisly murders the singer remembered the Chicago news media having a field day with when he was a kid. The John Prine Shrine website quotes the singer discussing his inspiration for the song: "It's an actual place along the Illinois-Wisconsin border. There's an entire chain of lakes along there, small lakes, and I remember as a teenager growing up in Chicago, a lot of the teenagers would go to these lakes and in the summer time kind of get away from the city. Lake Marie was kind of just one that stuck out in my mind. About '59, '60, '61, I grew up in Maywood - it's a western suburb of Chicago, and we started hearing about murders that weren't related to the mob. You know, John Wayne Gacy was like, about two towns away from me and you just hear about it. The suburbs were kind of thought to be a pretty safe place at the time, and then some of these unexplained murders would show up every once in a while, where they'd find people in the woods somewhere. I just kind of took any one of them, not one in particular, and put it as if it was in a TV newscast. It was a sharp left turn to take in a song, but when I got done with it, I kind of felt like it's what the song needed right then." In 2005 Lloyd Sachs wrote that the song was "one of Prine’s masterpieces." In a 2009 interview with The Huffington Post, Bob Dylan commented, "If I had to pick one song of his, it might be 'Lake Marie'."
