                                                                      Tell Me Something

Tell Me Something: The Songs of Mose Allison is a collaboration by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, Georgie Fame, Mose Allison and Ben Sidran, released in 1996. It is Van Morrison's 25th album. It charted at No. 1 on the Top Jazz Albums chart

You Can Count On Me( To Do My Part)

The entire recording for this album was done in a day and all of the performances were live first or second takes. Featuring the songs of Mose Allison, the performers were Allison himself, Georgie Fame, Ben Sidran, and Van Morrison, a longtime admirer of Allison's work. The horns were arranged by Pee Wee Ellis. Morrison said he had wanted to make the record for a long tim

                                                                        Benediction

Mos Allison is described as having been "one of the finest songwriters in 20th-century blues."His songs were strongly dependent on evoking moods, with his individualistic, "quirky", and subtle ironic humor. His writing influence on R&B had well-known fans recording his songs, among them Pete Townshend, who recorded his "Young Man Blues" for the Who's Live at Leeds album in 1970. John Mayall was one of dozens who recorded his classic, "Parchman Farm", and Georgie Fame used many of Allison's songs. Others who recorded his songs included Leon Russell ("I'm Smashed") and Bonnie Raitt ("Everybody's Cryin' Mercy").

Bob Dylan - Forgetful Heart

                                                                         Manchester 2011

"Forgetful Heart" is a minor-key blues song written by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan (with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter) that appears as the fifth track on Dylan's 2009 studio album Together Through Life. Like much of Dylan's 21st century output, he produced the song himself using the pseudonym Jack Frost.

 Forgetful heart
Lost your power of recall
Every little detail
You don't remember at all
The times we knew
Who would remember better than you

Forgetful heart
We laughed and had a good time you and I
It's been so long
Now you're content to let the days go by
When you were there
You were the answer to my prayer

 Forgetful heart
We loved with all the love that life can give
What can I say
Without you it's so hard to live
Can't take much more
Why can't we love like we did before

Forgetful heart
Like a walking shadow in my brain
All night long
I lay awake and listen to the sound of pain
The door has closed forevermore
If indeed there ever was a door

Nathan Bell - Crossroad Sessions /Bergen op Zoom (t,Zwijnshoofd) 28-9-2022

Nathan Bell, an artist in all his simplicity, with a good voice, beautiful songs and also a gifted guitarist. In the 90s of the last century he gave up his music career, but in 2007 he picked up the thread again with his acoustic guitar. The songs are about the rough side of life and often the loneliness in existence is central. Nathan Bell is not a man of finery; a simple guitar and harmonica do the job. A great opening to the new Crosroad Sessions season.

Van Morrison at Apage 2022

"Van the man" As we don't often see him in action. No dressing up, no sunglasses, and very relaxed. Here's a performance together with the choir and band of the Agape movement. And he still has the voice....

                                                                Love,Lover an Beloved

Superb version of this relatively new composition written with the Rev.

She Gives Me Religion (Album Beautiful Vision)

Beautiful Vision is the thirteenth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, released in February 1982. It continued Morrison's departure from R&B at the time, instead favoring Celtic folk and American jazz in its music. As with many of Morrison's recordings, spirituality is a major theme and some of the songs are based on the teachings of Alice Bailey. Other songs show Morrison's Celtic heritage and reminiscence of his Belfast backgrou

                                                                  Down To Joy

Van Morrison recorded this jubilant song for the coming-of-age drama film Belfast, written and directed by Belfast-raised Kenneth Branagh. The movie follows a young boy's childhood in the Northern Irish city during the tumult of the late 1960s.

Grateful Dead - One More Saturday Night

The Grateful Dead played the third of three Europe ‘72 Tour shows in Denmark when they returned on April 17 to Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark. The non-linear tour routing saw the band perform at Tivoli Concert Hall on Friday, April 14, take a day off, play 200 miles away in Aarhus on Sunday, April 16 and then head back to Tivoli Concert Hall to tape a Danish television appearance on Monday, April 17.

The April 17 show was recorded for Danish television and part of the concert was broadcast live. According to (Europe ’72 Tour manager) Sam Cutler’s interview for the enlightening Good Ol’ Grateful Deadcast, it was the first time a rock band had performed live on Danish television. In addition to the live broadcast, portions of the concert were shown on Danish television two more times in August 1972.

The second concert at Tivoli Concert Hall saw the band – guitarists Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir, drummer Bill Kreutzmann, bassist Phil Lesh and keyboardists Ron “Pigpen” McKernan and Keith Godchaux – reunite with vocalist (and Keith’s wife) Donna Jean Godchaux who likely remained in Copenhagen while the rest of the band trekked back and forth between Aarhus.

The Doors - When The Music,s over

James Douglas (Jim) Morrison (Melbourne (Florida), 8 december 1943 – Parijs, 3 juli 1971)

                                             LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOODBOWL 1968

"When the Music's Over" is an epic rock song by the American band the Doors, which appears on their second album Strange Days, released in 1967. It is among the band's longer pieces, clocking out to over 11 minutes.

Guitarist Robby Krieger would later explain the difficulty of his guitar solo: "That solo was really a challenge because the harmony is static. I had to play 56 bars over the same riff." Manzarek has stated, that he was inspired by Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man", while composing the organ intro

Jimi Hendrix - Like Rolling Stone (feat. Al Kooper e.o.)

CLEVELAND, Ohio – On April 15, 1968, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer B.B. King led an epic jam session at The Generation Club in New York City’s East Village that featured Jimi Hendrix, Al Kooper, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and others. The post-show concert has become known as “The King’s Jam”

  Like a Rolling Stone (Dylan)

The entire performance is worth a listen but it is Jimi’s soulful rendition of Dylan’s requiem for the 60’s that is emotionally hair-raising. The performance  features Al Kooper on organ who came up with the riff that became that song’s signature when it was originally recorded. (everwas)

The Music of Gram Parsons (Cecil Ingram Connor III (November 5, 1946 – September 19, 1973)

Steve Earl Dave Rawlings Gillian Welsch (Sin City)

Ryan Adams & EmmyLou Harris (Grievous Angel)

Dave Rawlings Gillian Welsh EmmyLou Harris (Hickory Wind)

Kathleen Edwards John Doe (We'll Sweep Out Ashes in the Morning)

Norah Jones (She)

Keith Richards Norah Jones (Love Hurts)
