Cliff Richard & the Shadows ((The Cliff Richard Show, 16.03.1961)

 A rare performance of Cliff playing lead guitar on The Shadows hit song "Apache" from his first own TV show "The Cliff Richard Show" (ATV) on the 16th of March 1961.

But on one occasion, Hank decided to hand over lead guitar duties to Cliff, proving that his occasional frontman was much more than just a pretty voice.The storming performance took place on March 16, 1961 on ATV's Cliff.The stage directors clearly had a bit of fun with the production, as it kicks off with the lights down low and Cliff wearing Hank Marvin-style specs, so you don't realise it's him.

Richard was originally marketed as a rebellious rock and roll singer in the style of Presley and Little Richard.With his backing group, the Shadows, he dominated the British popular music scene in the pre-Beatles period of the late 1950s to early 1960s.^] His 1958 hit single "Move It" is often described as Britain's first authentic rock and roll song
