Metamorphosis is the fourth studio album by Iron Butterfly, released on August 13, 1970. Butterfly stalwarts Ron Bushy (drums), Lee Dorman (bass) and Doug Ingle (vocals, keyboards) were accompanied on the album by Mike Pinera (guitar, vocals) and Larry Reinhardt (guitar). Though not as successful as its predecessor Ball (1969), it reached number 16 on the US charts..^[2] Erik Brann, who left because of band disputes, was replaced by four session guitarists. Two of them, Mike Pinera (Blues Image frontman), and Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt (called El Rhino on the sleeve), would become members of Iron Butterfly shortly after the album's release. Officially, the album is credited not to Iron Butterfly, but to "Iron Butterfly with Pinera & Rhino," in reference to the two aforementioned guitarists.

Little Village was an American/British rock band, formed in 1991 by Ry Cooder (guitar, vocal), John Hiatt (guitar, piano, vocal), Nick Lowe (bass, vocal) and Jim Keltner (drums). Each of the group's members had previously worked on Hiatt's 1987 album Bring The Family, and formed in 1991 while on a break from their own musical projects.

 The group's name was initially (and jokingly) announced as Hiatus. It was soon changed to Little Village, in reference to the foul-mouthed in-studio diatribe by Sonny Boy Williamson II, on a Chess reissue album titled Bummer Road. The group released its only album, Little Village, in early 1992. The songs were composed by all four group members and mainly sung by Hiatt, although Lowe took lead on two songs and Cooder one. While the album was met with general commercial indifference, it was nominated in 1993 for a Grammy Award as Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or a Group. The album peaked at #23 in the UK Albums Chart.^(Wikipedia)

 Nick Lowe later said, "Little Village was really good fun. Unfortunately, the record we did was no good. I suppose on some level, it worked, but Warner Brothers kind of gave us too much time to do it."
 Little Village toured the U.S. and Europe in 1992 to support the album, but the group disbanded later that year.

Zo beste muziekvrienden,na een paar heerlijke dagen tussen de Limburgse heuvels is Arthur weer terug met zijn muzikale zoektocht waarin Elvis zeker niet mag ontbreken .Ik moest in Limburg denken aan die bijzondere dag 16 augustus 1977 alweer zo,n 37  jaar geleden In de taxi gezeten Sittard naar Geleen kwam via de radio door dat Elvis was overleden.De taxichauffeur was hier zo van onder de indruk dat hij zijn wagen aan de kant zette in in snikken uitbarste.
Dit was dus een ,,echte,,fan,en dat moment zal ik niet snel vergeten Vandaar Elvis.

Elvis krijgt een gitaar als verjaardagscadeau van zijn moeder, maar hij kan niet eens spelen. Uiteindelijk krijgt de jonge Elvis les van zijn oom: uncle Vester, Vernons broer. Nog steeds is de Tupelo Hardware Company waar Gladys (zijn moeder) die gitaar kocht een drukbezochte toeristische trekpleister in Tupelo.

Als hij tien is neemt Elvis Presley deel aan de allereerste muziekwedstrijd in z'n leven. Z'n ouders vinden dat hun jongen een gouden stem heeft en regelen voor hem een plaatsje op de kandidatenlijst. Ook de jury wordt gecharmeerd door het schuchtere jongetje met z'n veel te grote broek die foutloos het kinderliedje "Old Shep" van Red Foley brengt. Radio WELO is ter plaatse en brengt, toen al, rechtstreeks verslag uit van de zangwedstrijd. De radio-uitzending wMet liveoptredens (in de regio) nam zijn populariteit alleen maar toe. Dit onderkende ook ene Tom Parker, beter bekend als 'The Colonel', die Elvis kon overtuigen om hem als manager te nemen Het eerste wapenfeit van Elvis' nieuwe manager was om Elvis onder te brengen bij RCA Victor. Elvis ondertekende bij de invloedrijke muziekproducent Steve Sholes een platencontract voor $35.000, destijds een recordbedrag, waarmee RCA ook de rechten voor alle Sun-opnamen overnam. In januari 1956 trad hij voor het eerst op in een landelijke televisieshow, de Stage Show van Jimmy en Tommy Dorsey. Elvis zou daarna nog veelvuldig van het medium televisie gebruikmaken om zijn populariteit te behouden

In datzelfde jaar mocht hij zijn eerste gouden plaat in ontvangst nemen voor zijn eerste RCA-plaat, die nr. 1 stond in drie verschillende hitlijsten: Heartbreak Hotel. Nummers als Money Honey en I Got a Woman waren oorspronkelijk van andere zangers, maar de manier waarop Elvis ze uitvoerde sprak de tieners van die tijd aan en werden alle rockklassiekers. Nummers als Love Me Tender, Hound Dog, Don't Be Cruel, All Shook Up, Teddy Bear, Jailhouse Rock waren zeer grote hits. Tot in 1958 nam hij de ene na de andere plaat op, in totaal 14, die alle ongehoord veel succes hadden. title="1968">1968 maakte hij een televisieshow voor NBC, die met kerst uitgezonden werd en alle kijkrecords verbrak. Deze show werd vanaf die tijd wel de comebackshow genoemd. Elvis trad er op met zijn oude muzikanten en was voor het grootste deel van de show gekleed in een zwartleren pak. Vanaf 1969 trad hij voornamelijk op in Las Vegas. Hiervan is de documentaire Elvis: that's the way it is (1970) gemaakt. Daarna ging Elvis weer op tournee in de VS. Hiervan werd de documentaire Elvis on tour (1972) gemaakt.

Zijn optredens kenden hoogte- en dieptepunten, hetgeen bijvoorbeeld het drukke concertjaar 1976 duidelijk aantoonde: de concerten van de zomer van dat jaar getuigen van een weinig alerte Elvis: hij vergat zijn teksten en compenseerde dit met grappige uithalen en opmerkingen. Aan de andere kant worden de eindejaarsconcerten in Dallas en Pittsburgh tot de beste van zijn latere carrière gerekend. Het laatste optreden vond plaats op 26 juni 1977. Elvis werd tijdens de concerten begeleid door een vaste band bestaande uit James Burton (gitaar), John Wilkinson (gitaar), Ronnie Tutt (drums), Glen Hardin (piano), Jerry Scheff (bas) en Charley Hodge (tweede stem), een oude vriend uit zijn diensttijd
Elvis overleed op 16 augustus 1977 in Memphis in de badkamer van zijn huis, officieel door een hartstilstand, maar later zou na autopsie blijken dat zijn lichaam sporen van meerdere soorten pillen (poly-farmacy) bevatte. Vermoedelijk was er sprake van een overdosis van door zijn arts voorgeschreven medicijnen.

 De stemming zit er goed  in deze avond in het mooie Pavilion Arena in Plymouth.En deze zou       gedurende het optreden steeds beter worden.Een kettingrokende Van Morrison is ondanks dat, erg goed bij stem De  band is onder leiding van Johnny Scott ,en met "special guest" Chris Barber in topvorm.

Bob Dylan & The Grateful Dead (1) - SlowTrain (Giant Stadium 7-12-1987)

    The Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead 1987 Tour was a concert tour by Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead taking place in the summer of 1987 and consisting of six concerts. Each concert began with a lengthy set by the Grateful Dead of their own material (sometime broken into a first and second set, per the Dead's own practice), followed by a roughly 90 minute set of the Dead acting as Dylan's backup band. The Dead had long performed many Dylan songs in their own concerts, so they were well-versed in Dylan's repertoire. However, some Dylan fans were not happy with the Dead playing the songs in their own style, or with Dylan going along with it.

"Rolling Rolling"schreef over de geringe interactie tussen Dylan en de band.Als ik de beelden nu bekijk is het zeker geen hoogtepunt uit zijn carierre.In dit geval heeft de rythmsectie het niet gemakkelijk Het blijf een feit dat Bob niet de gemakkelijkst artiest is om te begeleiden....
