           David Van Cortlandt Crosby ( Los Angeles, 14 augustus 1941 - 19 januari 2023) R.I.P

   foto,s Arthur

Naked in The Rain (Crosby&Nash)album Wind On The Water

                                        Guinevere (Crosby,Stills, Nash song)

Homeward Through The Haze (Crosby& Nash song)album Wind On The Water

Canada was zijn favoriete land "What Are There names" een prachtig "Long Time Gone" "Deja Vu".

David Crosby &  Michelle Willis (Sky Trails)

Rosanne Cash(feat.Ry Cooder, John Leventhal)- A Feather’s Not A Bird

The opening track of The River & the Thread, Rosanne Cash calls this song "a mini-travelogue of the South and of the soul."

                                                                   A Feather’s Not A Bird

It contains a line inspired by her friend Natalie Chanin, who runs a clothing company called Alabama Chanin. Rosanne and her husband/musical partner John Leventhal stopped in to see Chanin during their trip to the South. "She was teaching me to sew, and she said this great line: 'You have to love the thread,'" Cash said in our interview. "I started thinking about it in a bigger way. And of course the music of the South and Appalachia were deeply embedded in both of us, and John was getting really inspired as well."(Songfacts)

Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters

at the Quincy BluesFestival July 9-1994

Bruce Katz (keyboards), Per Hanson (drums) and "Rocket" Rod Carey (bass).

Language of the Soul is a wonderful change of pace for guitarist Ronnie Earl. The record is the first all-instrumental album Earl has recorded and, if anything, it's even more successful than his full-fledged, band-oriented records. Working without vocals has given him the freedom to try all sorts of new things, whether it's the jazzy interludes of "Indigo Burrell" or the gospel-flavored "I Am With You."(All Music)

Bob Dylan - The Early Days

------------------
Bob Dylan - The Early Days (1961-1962) door morrisanddylan I Was Young When I Left Home (From the Bootleg Daddy Rolling Stone)

I was young when I left home
But I been out a-ramblin’ ‘round
And I never wrote a letter to my home
To my home, Lord, to my home
And I never wrote a letter to my home

It was just the other day
I was bringing home my pay
When I met an old friend I used to know

Said your mother’s dead and gone
Baby sister’s all gone wrong
And your daddy needs you home right away

Not a shirt on my back
Not a penny on my name
Well I can’t go home thisaway
Thisaway, Lord, Lord, Lord
And I can’t go home thisaway

If you miss the train I’m on
Count the days I’m gone
You will hear that whistle blow a hundred miles
A hundred miles, honey baby. Lord Lord Lord
And you’ll hear that whistle blow a hundred miles

I’m playing on a track
Ma would come and whoop me back
On them trestles down by old Jim McKay’s

When I pay the debt I owe
To the commissary store
I will pawn my watch and chain and go home
Go home, Lord Lord Lord
I will pawn my watch and chain and go home

Used to tell Ma sometimes
When I see them riding blinds
Gonna make me a home out in the wind
In the wind, Lord in the wind
Make me a home out in the wind

I don’t like it in the wind
Wanna go back home again
But I can’t go home thisaway
Thisaway, Lord Lord Lord
And I can’t go home thisaway

I was young when I left home
And I been out rambling ‘round
And I never wrote a letter to my home
To my home, Lord Lord Lord
And I never wrote a letter to my home

Townes van Zandt - Live Austn,Texas (1995)

Townes Van Zandt (7 maart 1944, Fort Worth, Texas - 1 januari 1997, Smyrna, Tennessee)

)
Marie

Townes & Blaze Snowin on Raton

The Hole

"the best songwriter in the whole world and I'll stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table in my cowboy boots and say that. Van Zandt reageerde met "I've met Bob Dylan's bodyguards and if Steve Earle thinks he can stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table, he's sadly mistaken."

Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Lyle Lovett, Emmylou Harris, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Nanci Griffith, Cowboy Junkies, Vetiver, Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes, Simon Joyner, Caleb Followill of Kings Of Leon, Meat Puppets, Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, Hoyt Axton, Tindersticks, Devendra Banhart, Norah Jones, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, The Be Good Tanyas, Gillian Welch, the Dixie Chicks, and Garth Brooks,Willie Nelson en vele anderen.
