Van Morrison - Summertime In England (Essen 4 April 1982)

One of my favorite VM songs. Beautiful performance with a great band. Special attention to Pee Wee Ellis

"Summertime in England" by Van Morrison is a poetic reflection on the beauty, history, and spirituality of England during the summertime. The song weaves together themes of nature, literature, art, and a deep sense of spirituality to create a rich tapestry of imagery and emotion.

Big hand for the band!!!

Tom Donlinger-drums/David Hayes-bass/Chris Michie -guitar/John Allair-keys/Pee Wee Ellis-sax/Mark Isham-trumpet/Peter van Hooke-drums/Pauline Lozano/Bianca Thorton/Annie Stocking -vocals

Common One is the twelfth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, released in 1980. Van Morrison - Street Choir, Live at Montreux1974

The concert performance at Montreux for the 1974  was recorded on June 30, 1974.

Morrison's stripped-down band was assembled when he arrived at Montreux, with the help of festival manager Claude Nobs. Drummer Dallas Taylor from Crosby, Stills and Nash, British keyboardist Pete Wingfield and Jerome Rimson, bass player from Detroit, Michigan rounded out the quartet, with Morrison contributing vocals, saxophone, guitar and harmonica. It was a lean band without electric guitar, horns or strings

His Band and the Street Choir (also referred to as Street Choir)[1] is the fourth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It was released in November 1970 by Warner Bros. Records. Originally titled Virgo's Fool, Street Choir was renamed by Warner Bros. without Morrison's consent. Recording began in early 1970 with a demo session in a small church in Woodstock, New York. Morrison booked the A&R Studios on 46th Street in New York City in the second quarter of 1970 to produce two sessions of songs that were released on His Band and the Street Choir

Van Morrison - Tivoli Vredenburg ( 30 April & 1May 2024)

Since "Them" I have always continued to follow Van Morrison's musical adventures. My first live concert was in De Doelen in Rotterdam in 1974. Many concerts would follow, and when he was in the Netherlands/Belgium I was there. Especially the performances in Tiivoli Vredenburg and Jazz Gent, among others, were special. However, the "Skiffle" were not really my thing. And his performance at NSJ was the first VM concert where I dropped out halfway through. I was therefore very surprised that I saw the beautiful videos and set lists of saw his performances in Vredenburg. That's how I like to see Van The Man!

Dahoud Shaar -drums,Bill Atwood -trumpet ,James Trumbo - keys.

                                               Gloria

The Caledonia Soul Orchestra was the band created by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison in 1973. The band was named after an eighteen-minute instrumental outtake on the His Band and the Street Choir album.

     Cyprus Avenue

In 1973 Van Morrison and the Caledonia Soul Orchestra went on a three-month tour of the United States and Europe, the result of which was the live double album It's Too Late to Stop Now. The title is taken from the last line in the lyrics of one of Morrison's songs, "Into the Mystic" from the 1970 Moondance album. In live performances with the Caledonia Soul Orchestra, he would close the concert with a lengthened version of the Astral Weeks song "Cyprus Avenue" and then shout out "It's too late to stop now!" as he exited the stage.

I was lucky that I saw Van Morrison with his Caledonia Soul Orchestra perform in De Doelen in Rotterdam that same year, a beautiful stage. It was my first VM concert, many more would follow, about 30 times. The last was at North Sea Jazz 2023 also in Rotterdam.

According to the very informative website..http://ivan.vanomatic.de/...Van only played that song live once

Boy and his dog
Went out looking for the rainbow
You know what did they learn
Since that very day

Walking by the river
And running like a blue streak
Through the fields of streams and meadows
Laughing all the way

Oh redwood tree
Please let us under
When we were young we used to go
Under the redwood tree

And it smells like rain
Maybe even thunder
Won't you keep us from all harm
Wonderful redwood tree

And a boy and his father
Went out, went out looking for the lost dog
You know what oh haven't they learned
Since they did that together
They did not bring him back
He already had departed
But look at everything they have learned
Since that, since that very day

Oh redwood tree
Please let us under
When we were young we used to go
Under the redwood tree

And it smells like rain
Maybe even thunder
Won't you keep us from all harm
Wonderful redwood tree

Ta da da da...
