Glen Hansard - Astral Weeks (Stage On Sixth Austin Texas, March 16-2012)

Hansard has remarked about his musical influences: In my house, when I was a kid, there was the holy trinity, which was Leonard Cohen, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan with Bob sitting center."Hansard and The Frames toured as the support act for Bob Dylan in Australia and New Zealand in August 2007 and Hansard often performs Van Morrison's songs in concert. Two such songs include "Into the Mystic", and "And the Healing Has Begun" which were included on the collector's edition of the soundtrack for the film Once.

"Astral Weeks" is the title song and opening track on the 1968 album Astral Weeks by Van Morrison

One of those songs where you can see the light at the end of the tunnel… I don’t think I can elaborate on it any more than that." V.M.

Leadbelly

Huddy William Ledbetter (Mooringsport (Louisiana), 20 januari 1885 – New York City, 6 december 1949)
Tot zijn bekendste nummers behoren The house of the rising sun, The Midnight Special, Goodnight Irene, Cotton Fields en Rock Island Line.

Please, Governor Neff, Be good 'n' kind
Have mercy on my great long time...
I don't see to save my soul
If I don't get a pardon, try me on a parole...
If I had you, Governor Neff, like you got me
I'd wake up in the mornin' and I'd set you free

Governor Neff is gouverneur Pat Morris Neff.

Bob Dylan - Chimes Of Freedom ( 17 Januari 1993)

Lincoln Memorial  Washington 17 Januari 1993

"Chimes of Freedom" is a song written and performed by Bob Dylan and featured on his 1964 album Another Side of Bob Dylan (see 1964 in music), produced by Tom Wilson. It was written in early 1964 and was influenced by the symbolist poetry of Arthur Rimbaud. The song depicts the feelings and thoughts of the singer and his companion as they wait out a lightning storm under a doorway. The singer expresses his solidarity with people who are downtrodden or otherwise treated unjustly, and believes that the thunder is tolling in sympathy for them. Music critic Paul Williams has described the song as Dylan's Sermon on the Mount. The song has been covered many times by different artists, including The Byrds, Jefferson Starship, Youssou N'Dour, Bruce Springsteen and U2.(Wikipedia)
