The Bridge School Benefit is een liefdadigheidsconcert georganiseerd door Neil en Pegi Young. Het word jaarlijks gehouden in Mountain View, California, in October in het Shoreline Amphitheatre. De opbrengst komt ten goede van Bridge School, die kinderen helpt met ernstige lichamelijke beperkingen en complexe communicatie-behoeften. Een van de doelstellingen van het programma is het gebruik van geavanceerde ondersteunende en alternatieve communicatie en ondersteunende technologie.De grote animator van het project is Pegi Young

Veel grote artiesten werken belangenloos aan deze concerten mee ,in soms verrassende samenstellingen . Wat mij betreft is dit ook weer een van die hoogtepunten.

      7 jaar geleden zag ik Lucinda Williams in dit prachtige openluchttheater optreden,en deze avond deed ze het nog een keer over.Ook nu weer een mooi optreden,een regenbuitje tussendoor mocht de pret niet drukken.Ook Lucinda had het naar haar zin ,dit is wat ze schreef op FB.

      There was some debate about whether we played in the world's diamond capital of Antwerp before, the band was saying yes -and after some intense (not really) online research they were proven correct.(L.W.)

Not only had we played Antwerp in July of 2009 but we had played the same beautiful Openluchttheater Rivierenhof, so we got all that squared away. Lu really love the sound on stage, so the technical problems of the night before in Amsterdam were completely behind us. This one did have a rather unusual ending.(L.W)

                                                     All day long they had been telling that it was a hard curfew so we were careful to make the setlist go right up to the final minute - and actually a couple minutes. After Lu and the band had left the stage and headed toward the dressing room - and with the boisterous crowd now not wanting leave - one of the production managers came over and said “one more” (L.W)

So we went to see if we could get everybody together to go back out and do another song. About this time the house lights came up and the after show music had started and some people had started to leave - but most of the audience was still there. We had to go get David back from the dressing room but we managed to get everybody back quickly and back on stage for a rollicking version of Get Right With God - and people who had begun leaving came back down to the front of the stage. A crazy ending to a great night in Antwerp we’ll definitely remember this one! (L.W)

Lucinda Williams, (Lake Charles (Louisiana), 26 januari 1953) is een Amerikaanse singer-songwriter. Zij won drie Grammy Awards en haar album Car Wheels on a Gravel Road staat in de All-TIME 100 Albums lijst van het TIME Magazine
Ik zag haar twee keer in aktie,eenmaal op het Take Roots festival in Utrecht en vorig jaar in het prachtige openluchttheater Rivierenhof in Antwerpen .

Lucinda Williams Antwerpen 11-7-2009 RE-P0ST!

Nog een keer Lucinda,met mooie filmpjes van HBenders(zie Setlist)

In een miezerig regentje op weg naar het openlucht!!!Theater Rivierenhof in Antwerpen voor het concert van Lucinda Williams.Dat zag er niet veelbelovend uit,maar aangekomen op de plaats van bestemming werd het droog en werd het alsnog een mooie avond. Hieronder een paar impressies...

(foto Arthur)Het voorprogramma werd verzorgd door Buick6 de begeleidingsbangdvan Lucinda,niet echt boeiend alhoewel een Led Zeppelin medley op het eind een hoop goedmaakte.

(foto Arthur)Dan Lucinda op het podium met een prima show,prachtige nummers als cant let Go,Wel Well Well,Concrete and Barbed Wire Tears of Joy ik vond het allemaal prachtig.

(foto Arthur)Buick 6 is sinds 2007 de begeleidingsband van Lucinda Williams. Na een succesvolle tour in datzelfde jaar, waar de magie tussen beiden er af spatte, werd de band ook gevraagd om mee de studio in te kruipen om Williams’ album Little Honey op te nemen. Ook hier was de chemie tussen zangeres en band niet te ontkennen


Soms keiharde Rock& Roll afgewisseld door prachtige ballads als Blue, Drunken Angel en Fruits of my Labour
