The Never Ending Tour 1991 started with The Second Fastbreak Tour starting in late January. The tour started in the reverse of the original Fastbreak Tour, in the first tour Dylan started in North America and moved to Europe but in the 1991 tour Dylan started in Europe and finished in North America. Dylan then performed an eight show residency at Hammersmith Odeon in London. On April 19 Dylan started a seventeen-date concert tour of the United States. The tour started in New Orleans, Louisiana and came to an end May 12 in Amherst, Massachusetts.

 

Dylan returned to Europe in early June. The tour started with three concerts in Italy. On June 10 and 11 Bob performed two concerts in Yugoslavia, his first and last concerts there as the country would break–up the following year.Dylan then performed two concerts in Austria before performing six concerts in Germany. Dylan then performed two concerts in Stockholm, Sweden and then the tour came to an end with a performance at Kalvøya–Festivalen on June 28 and a performance at Midtfyns Festival the following day.

After finishing his European summer tour Dylan returned to North America to perform fourteen concerts in the United States and one in Canada. He then travelled to South America with the band to perform nine concerts, five of which were in Brazil, three in Argentina and one concert in Uruguay.^[11] Dylan continued his North American tour on October 24 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The tour continued through the Southern and Eastern United States coming to an end in Charlottesville, Virginia on November 20.

World Gone Wrong is the twenty-ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on October 26, 1993 by Columbia Records.
It was Dylan's second consecutive collection of only traditional folk songs, performed acoustically with guitar and harmonica. The songs tend to deal with darker and more tragic themes than the previous outing, Good as I Been to You.
The album received a warm, if not excited, reception from critics. Despite earning a Grammy award for Best Traditional Folk Album, it peaked at a modest #70 in the US, and at #35 in the UK.

 This song is credited to Roy Acuff, but was actually written by Jack Anglin, who wrote for Acuff-Rose Songs Publishing in Nashville, and was one-half of the country duo "Johnnie and Jack." The "Johnnie" was Johnnie Wright who was married to Kitty Wells. She recorded a version of "Searching for a Soldier's Grave" at her first session for Decca Records, which yielded her breakout hit "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels" in 1952. Others who have recorded "Soldier's Grave" include the Louvin Brothers, Bob Dylan and Hank Williams, who called it the "purdiest song [he] ever heard."

Building on the rustic style he experimented with on John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline displayed a complete immersion into country music. Along with the more basic lyrical themes, simple songwriting structures, and charming domestic feel, it introduced audiences to a radically new singing voice from Dylan—a soft, affected country croon.
The result received a generally positive reaction from critics, and was a commercial success. Reaching number 3 in the US, the album also scored Dylan his fourth UK number 1 album

Time Out of Mind is the thirtieth studio album by the American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on September 30, 1997 by Columbia Records. It was his first double studio album (on vinyl) since Self Portrait in 1970. It was also released as a single CD.
For fans and critics, the album marked Dylan's artistic comeback after he struggled with his musical identity throughout the 1980s; he hadn't released any original material for seven years, since Under the Red Sky in 1990. Time Out of Mind is hailed as one of Dylan's best albums, and it went on to win three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year in 1998. Also, the album is ranked number 408 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2003.

Blind Faith - 7 Juni 1969 - Hyde Park London

Na het uiteenvallen van The Cream richtte Eric Clapton in februari 1969 Blind Faith op. Naast Clapton (gitaar) bestond de band uit ex-Traffic toetsenist en zanger Steve Winwood, drummer Ginger Baker en bassist Rick Grech.

De groep kreeg onmiddellijk de status van supergroep, hoewel het voor de muzikanten slechts een muzikaal experiment betrof. De groep nam een album "Blind Faith" op, dat in Europa van een hoes met een naakt 11-jarig meisje was voorzien. In Amerika kreeg het album een kuise uitvoering. Opvallend is verder, dat vooral Steve Winwood zijn stempel op deze elpee zette.

Na het concert in Hyde Park ging de groep op tournee door de Verenigde Staten van Amerika. Gepromoot als de "Ultimate Supergroup" speelde Blind Faih in New York in de Madison Square Garden, waarna ook in andere staten concerten volgden.
In september 1969, na afloop van de Amerikaanse tournee, werd Blind Faith ontbonden.

Dick Dale & the Del-Tones (Misirlou)
Dick Dale (geboren als Richard Anthony Monsour op 4 mei, 1937, in Quincy, Massachusetts) ook bekend als "The King of the Surf Guitar", is een van de pioniers op het gebied van surfrock en één van de meest invloedrijke gitaristen uit de vroege jaren '60. Dale experimenteerde met galmeffecten en maakte gebruik van custom gebouwde Fender versterkers, inclusief de allereerste 100 watt versterker.

Met zijn band de Del-Tones (bassist Ron Eglit, drummer Ron Fish en gitarist Carl Verhein), werden Dale's live shows lokaal zeer druk bezocht. Het nummer "Let's go Trippin" uit 1961 wordt vaak gezien als het eerste surf rock nummer. Deze werd gevolgd door meerdere lokaal uitgebrachte nummers, zoals "Jungle Fever" en "Surf Beat" welke uitkwamen onder zijn eigen Deltone label. Zijn eerste volledige album was "Surfers' Choice" uit 1962. Dit album werd uitgebracht door Capitol Records en wereldwijd verspreid. Dale verscheen in die tijd vaak in de "Ed Sullivan Show" en meerdere films. Zijn tweede album werd vernoemd naar zijn bijnaam; "King of the Surf Guitar".

Sounds Incorporared (Rinky Dink/William Tell)
Sounds Incorporated, later bekendals Sounds Inc., waren een Britse instrumentale pop groep .
In 1964 werden ze Cilla Black's backing band, en het volgende jaar waren ze de openingsact voor de Beatles tijdens hun wereld tournee,inclusief het concert in New York's Shea Stadium. Hun grootste succes als groep bereikten ze in Australie, waar hun versie van de "William Tell Overture" de tweede plaats in de hitparade bereikte In 1967 vroegen de Beatles Cameron, Holmes, en West (de saxofoonsectie van de band) hen voor de Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album track, "Good Morning Good Morning".

The Champs waren een rock and roll band, bekend door hun Latin instrumental "Tequila." De song was opgenomen in de Gold Star Studios in 1958 en won in 1959 de Grammy Award voor deBest Rhythm & Blues Recording.


The Chantays(Pipeline) waren een surf rock band uit de vroege jaren60.Bekend van hun instrumentale hit "Pipeline" (1963).Bandleden waren Bob Spickard, Brian Carman (co-writers of Pipeline), Bob Welch, Warren Waters en Rob Marshall .


The Shadows( The Savage) was een instrumentale muziekgroep, actief vanaf de jaren '50 tot begin deze eeuw. Als band legden ze de basis voor de klassieke line-up, bestaande uit een sologitaar, een slaggitaar, een basgitaar en drums. The Shadows was jarenlang de vaste begeleidingsgroep van Cliff Richard en het voorbeeld voor talloze gitaristen, waaronder Tony Iommi, Mark Knopfler, Pete Townshend, Frank Zappa en Brian May.


The Spotnicks(Amapola) waren een instrumentale rock group uit Zweden,opgericht in1961. Mede bekend door hun "space suit" kostuums op het podium ,en door hun speciale elektrische gitaarsound Ze hebben 42 albums albums op hun naam staan,verkochten er meerdan 18 million en touren nog steeds .


The Ventures (Walk don,t run)
De instrumentale surfgroep The Ventures werd in 1959 in Seattle opgericht door de gitaristen Bob Bogle en Don Wilson. In 1960 scoorde de groep met Walk Don't Run een wereldhit. De groep bereikte in de jaren 60 met 14 instrumentale singles de Billboard Top-100. Van de Ventures werden meer dan 250 verschillende albums uitgebracht. In 1964 verkochten ze in Japan meer platen dan de Beatles. Ze inspireerden ontelbare gitaargroepen in alle werelddelen, waaronder de bekendste surfband uit de geschiedenis, de Beach Boys, en veel Nederlandse indorockgroepen.



The Jumping Jewels - Dakota
 De Haagse gitaargroep The Jumping Jewels was gebaseerd op de Fender Stratocaster-sound van The Shadows. Vooral ook door toedoen van hun manager Herman Batelaan wist de groep met zijn professionele aanpak een internationale status te bereiken. Met hun zanger Johnny Lion (Jan van Leeuwarden) hadden zij in de periode 1961-1965 een enorm groot succes in Nederland. In de zalen speelden zich vaak wilde taferelen af met hysterische fans.
 De bezetting bestond naast Lion uit Hans van Eijk (sologitaar), Tjibbe Veelo (slaggitaar), Joop Oonk (basgitaar), Frits Tamminga (drums). De laatste werd in 1963 vervangen door Cees Kranenburg jr..


The Tielman Brothers
 De Tielman Brothers was een Nederlandse rockband die ontstond in de jaren veertig en in verschillende bezettingen tot in de 21e eeuw actief was. In haar hoogtijdagen (begin jaren zestig) bestond de groep uit de vier gebroeders Tielman: Reggy (1933-2014), Ponthon (1934-2000), Andy (1936-2011) en Loulou (1938-1994). Ook hun zus Jane (1940-1993) heeft met de Tielman Brothers opgetreden


The Jokers waren een Belgische rockgroep die vooral in de jaren 60 succes had. De groep, afkomstig uit Antwerpen, concentreerde zich vooral op gitaarmuziek.
Grammofoonplaten van deze groep werden tijdens hun meest succesrijke periode, het midden van de jaren 60, over de hele wereld uitgebracht, eerst enkel singles, later ook volledige LP's. Vooral in Japan werd veel materiaal van de groep uitgebracht. Door de jaren heen is er altijd een internationale belangstelling voor hun gitaarmuziek blijven bestaan.

Michael Bernard "Mike" Bloomfield (July 28, 1943 – February 15, 1981) Gitarist /Componist.
De in Chicago geboren Bloomfield begint zijn muzikale carrière rond '65, in de groep van Paul Butterfield, waardoor hij enige bekendheid krijgt. Ook is hij te horen op Dylan's 'Highway 61 Revisited'. In '67 verlaat hij de groep om Electric Flag te beginnen, die helaas een kort leven is beschoren. Het volgende project waarbij Bloomfield is betrokken, is het album Supersession, waaraan ook Steve Stills en Al Kooper (voorheen in Blood, Sweat & Tears en Blues Project) meewerken

In 1963 ontmoet Elvin harmonicaspeler Paul Butterfield en ze beginnen een band The Paul Butterfield Bluesband.In 1968 gaat Elvin Bishop solo en formeert The Elvin Bishop Group.
Een aantal jaren geleden was ik getuige van een erg mooi concert dat hij gaf in het Arsenaal theater in Vlissingen.En dit jaar stond hij nog op een bluesfestival in Antwerpen.

Mark Naftalin speelde van 1965-1968, in the Paul Butterfield BluesBand Na de eerste 4 albums begon hij voor zichzelf en trad op onder de naam Mark Naftalin "Rhythm & Blues Revue" Ook is hij nog steeds aktief bij blues en rock opnamesessies ,solo optredens,producer en als organisator van concerten en fetivals.
Sam Lay (Geb.Birmingham ,Alabama 20 maart 1935 )Lay began begon zijn carriere als drummer van the Original Thunderbirdsdaarna werkt hij met de harmonica player Little Walter .In de 1960s Lay maakte hij platen en trad op met bluesgiganten als Willy Dixon,Howlin Wolf,Eddy Taylor,John Lee Hooker,Junior Wells,Bo Diddly,Magic Sam,Jimmy Rogers,Earl Hooker,Muddy Waters en de Paul Butterfield BluesBand . Bob Dylan , met Lay als drummer, gaf zijn eerste electric-rock concert op het Newport Folk Festival in 1965. Lay speelt ook mee op het Dylan album Highway 61 Revisited .

 “Black Dog”, was born after Burdon injured himself on a patch of ice a few years back, living in agony under a constant state of duress. But after writing the song, which takes its name from the Winston Churchill-coined “black dog of depression” used to describe a similar despair, Burdon’s outlook’s improved. “Now I’m finding black dogs in the neighborhood that are kind to me, and I’m finding that I have no fear,” he told Rolling Stone. “I’m putting my hands through fences and stroking these dogs. It’s amazing how music can make things happen like that.”

"The House of the Rising Sun" is a traditional folk song, sometimes called "Rising Sun Blues". It tells of a life gone wrong in New Orleans. The most successful commercial version, recorded in 1964 by the English rock group The Animals, was a number one hit in the United Kingdom, the United States, Sweden, Finland, and Canada.

 An interview with Eric Burdon revealed that he first heard the song in a club in Newcastle, England, where it was sung by the Northumbrian folk singer Johnny Handle. The Animals were on tour with Chuck Berry and chose it because they wanted something distinctive to sing.^[3] This interview refutes assertions that the inspiration for their arrangement came from Bob Dylan. The band enjoyed a huge hit with the song, much to Dylan's chagrin when his version was referred to as a cover. The irony of this was not lost on Dave Van Ronk, who said the whole issue was a "tempest in a teapot," and that Dylan stopped playing the song after The Animals' hit because fans accused Dylan of plagiarism. Muddy Waters live at the Ash Grove (July 29 -1971)

The Ash Grove was a folk music club located at 8162 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, founded in 1958 by Ed Pearl and named after the Welsh folk song, "The Ash Grove."
In its short fifteen years, the Ash Grove forever altered the music scene in Los Angeles and helped many artists find a West Coast audience. Bob Dylan recalled that, "I'd seen posters of folk shows at the Ash Grove and used to dream about playing there...."^{[citation needed]}
The club was a locus of interaction between older folk and blues legends, such as Mississippi John Hurt, Son House, Earl Hooker and Muddy Waters, and young artists that produced the 'Sixties music revolution.                                           Hoochie Coochie Man
 "Hoochie Coochie Man" (originally titled "I'm Your Hoochie Cooche Man") is a blues standard written by Willie Dixon and first recorded by Muddy Waters in 1954. The song references hoodoo folk magic elements and makes novel use of a stop-time musical arrangement. It became one of Waters' most popular and identifiable songs and helped secure Dixon's role as Chess Records' chief songwriter.

Fathers and Sons is the seventh studio album by American blues musician Muddy Waters, originally released as a double LP by Chess Records in August 1969.
The album features both studio and live recordings recorded in April 1969 with an all-star band including Michael Bloomfield and Paul Butterfield of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Donald "Duck" Dunn of Booker T. & the M.G.'s and Sam Lay in Chicago, Illinois.
The album was Muddy's biggest mainstream success, reaching #70 on the Billboard 200, which was his only appearance in the top half of the chart. Muddy would not make another appearance on the 200 until Hard Again in 1977.

                                            Walking Thru The Park

Waters wrote this song, and although the melody is pleasant and even humorous, the story behind the lyrics tell of a man who's staying at the park to be away from his abusive wife. Hence the line, "Don't you bother my baby - No tellin' what she'll do - The girl she may cut you - She may shoot you too." (thanks, Landon - Winchester, OH)
 Waters recorded this song with fellow Blues legend Howlin' Wolf for the 1983 album Muddy & The Wolf.

                                          Honey Bee
Muddy Waters was born in rural Mississippi, and learned his blues at the feet of Son House and Robert Johnson.
By the 1940’s he took that delta blues to Chicago and led the gradual transition to electrified urban blues. He then recorded “Honey Bee” in 1951 with just bass and guitar accompaniment. The sound was closer to the delta, but you can hear the beginnings of the more aggressive modern sound starting to happen.
