The Doors - When The Music,s over

James Douglas (Jim) Morrison (Melbourne (Florida), 8 december 1943 – Parijs, 3 juli 1971)

                                             LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOODBOWL 1968

"When the Music's Over" is an epic rock song by the American band the Doors, which appears on their second album Strange Days, released in 1967. It is among the band's longer pieces, clocking out to over 11 minutes.

Guitarist Robby Krieger would later explain the difficulty of his guitar solo: "That solo was really a challenge because the harmony is static. I had to play 56 bars over the same riff." Manzarek has stated, that he was inspired by Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man", while composing the organ intro

Jimi Hendrix - Like Rolling Stone (feat. Al Kooper e.o.)

CLEVELAND, Ohio – On April 15, 1968, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer B.B. King led an epic jam session at The Generation Club in New York City’s East Village that featured Jimi Hendrix, Al Kooper, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and others. The post-show concert has become known as “The King’s Jam”

  Like a Rolling Stone (Dylan)

The entire performance is worth a listen but it is Jimi’s soulful rendition of Dylan’s requiem for the 60’s that is emotionally hair-raising. The performance  features Al Kooper on organ who came up with the riff that became that song’s signature when it was originally recorded. (everwas)

The Music of Gram Parsons (Cecil Ingram Connor III (November 5, 1946 – September 19, 1973)

Steve Earl Dave Rawlings Gillian Welsch (Sin City)

Ryan Adams & EmmyLou Harris (Grievous Angel)

Dave Rawlings Gillian Welsh EmmyLou Harris (Hickory Wind)

Kathleen Edwards John Doe (We'll Sweep Out Ashes in the Morning)

Norah Jones (She)

Keith Richards Norah Jones (Love Hurts)

Jimi Hendrix - The Wind Cries Mary (Monterey)

James Marshall (Jimi) Hendrix (geboren als Johnny Allen Hendrix, Seattle, 27 november 1942 – Londen, 18 september 1970)
Jimi  R.I.P.

The Wind Cries Mary was de derde single van The Jimi Hendrix Experience met als B--Side "Highway Chile",releasedatum 5 Mei 1967.

After all the jacks are in their boxes
And the clowns have all gone to bed
You can hear happiness staggering on down the street
Footprints dressed in red
And the wind whispers Mary

A broom is drearily sweeping
Up the broken pieces of yesterday’s life
Somewhere a queen is weeping
Somewhere a king has no wife
And the wind, it cries Mary

The traffic lights they turn up blue tomorrow
And shine their emptiness down on my bed
The tiny island sags downstream
‘Cause the life that lived is, is dead
And the wind screams Mary

Will the wind ever remember
The names it has blown in the past
And with his crutch, it’s old age, and it's wisdom
It whispers no, this will be the last
And the wind cries Mary

Molly Tuttle - Golden Highway (feat.Jerry Douglas)

LIVE at Allegany County Fairgrounds - Cumberland, MD

                                                                   Crooked Tree

n March 2020, Tuttle experienced the devastating tornado that tore through much of East Nashville, followed by the global pandemic. While sheltering at home, she found solace by revisiting favorite songs in an attempt to “remind myself why I love music.” An idea for an album emerged, to be recorded with Los Angeles-based producer Tony Berg (Andrew Bird), despite being over 2,000 miles apart.
