Review Paperbackwriter.Refusing to backdown to the tidal wave of Beatlemania, the Beach Boys pumped out 22 minutes of pure joy in this lost treasure from 1964. Sure, the concert is short, but brief gigs were all the rage in the early 60's. The Boys whip out classics such as "Little Duece Coupe", "Hawaii" and "Surfin' USA" with the frenetic energy of a garage band auditioning for their first gig. The adolescent girls shriek hysterically as drummer Denny Wilson shakes his long hair while pounding out a fearsome beat. Mike Love clucks around the stage like a reject from a Gidget movie. But, oh what fun! Then of course there's Brian, just nine months before his "retirement" from the road, caressing the crowd with his beautiful falsetto on "Surfer Girl". In fact, the rare appearance of Brian -- looking happy and healthy -- makes this video worthwhile. The Beach Boys, like the Beatles, would progress by leaps and bounds the following two years. Albums such as "Today" and "Pet Sounds" would prove to be landmark achievements, but never again would they seem so innocent and so wrecklessly full of energy.

Grateful Dead - The Golden Road (early footage ,1967)
Whicker's World was a British television documentary series that ran from 1958 to 1994, presented by journalist and broadcaster Alan Whicker.
Originally a segment on the BBC's Tonight programme in 1958, Whicker's World became a fully-fledged television series in its own right in the 1960s.[1] The series was first shown by the BBC until 1968, and then by ITV from 1968 to 1983, when it was produced by Yorkshire Television, in which Whicker himself was a shareholder. The series returned to the BBC in 1984, and to ITV again in 1992.
The Golden Road
This is the first song on the Grateful Dead's first studio album, and along with "Cream Puff War," the only original.
Appearing
in March 1967, "The Golden Road" was the perfect song to usher in the
Summer of Love, when Hippies, Flower Children, counterculture folks,
whatever-your-preferred-nomenclature flooded San Francisco's Haight
Ashbury district.
Phil Lesh (basgitaar en zang)
Bob Weir (gitaar en zang)
Ron"Pigpen"McKernan (toetsen, zang, harmonica en percussie)One of the group's earliest major performances in 1967 was the Mantra-Rock Dance—a musical event held on January 29, 1967, at the Avalon Ballroom by the San Francisco Hare Krishna temple. The Grateful Dead performed at the event along with the Hare Krishna founder Bhaktivedanta Swami, poet Allen Ginsberg, bands Moby Grape and Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin, donating proceeds to the Krishna temple.[37][38] The band's first LP, The Grateful Dead, was released on Warner Brothers in 1967.
Classically trained trumpeter Phil Lesh performed on bass guitar. Bob Weir, the youngest original member of the group, played rhythm guitar. Ron "Pigpen" McKernan played keyboards, percussion, and harmonica until shortly before his death in 1973 at the age of 27. Garcia, Weir, and McKernan shared the lead vocal duties more or less equally; Lesh only sang a few leads, but his tenor was a key part of the band's three-part vocal harmonies. Bill Kreutzmann played drums, and in September 1967 was joined by a second drummer, New York City native Mickey Hart, who also played a wide variety of other percussion instruments.

Tiny Legs Tim Band(feat. Steven Troch) - Bluesfestival Ridderkerk (2 April 2016)

Grateful Dead - China Cat Sunflower/I Know You Rider
Old Renaissance Faire Grounds Veneta OR
(Benefit for Springfield Creamery)
8-27-1972
Concert film by John Norris,Sam Field, and Phil DeGuere
Loosely shot, this 100-minute film captures an incredibly youthful Grateful Dead playing outdoors at a creamery benefit in Veneta, Oregon.
The Grateful Dead
Bill Kreutzmann, Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh.
"In sitting down to watch 'Sunshine Daydream,'
one gets a sense of revisiting history.
Because this was an era of unprecedented
accessibility, the Canis Major crew were able to
station their cameras squarely on the wings of
the stage, mere feet from the band.
The resulting footage allows the viewer to stand
almost shoulder-to-shoulder with a
very young Bob Weir, age 25, strumming a
cherry-red hollow-body guitar; a bushy-haired
Phil Lesh, dressed more like a surfer than a
bassist, and belting unexpected harmony
vocals; a fuzzily bearded Garcia, age 30,
smiling, not a gray hair in sight; and,
a tough-looking Bill Kreutzman, sitting
squatly on his drum stool, chewing gum and
wearing a railroad conductor's cap. Where most
Dead fans only witnessed these musicians
20 years later, and from the remote mezzanine
deck of a Checkerdome-Enormodome-Superstadium,
here suddenly is Garcia's boot tapping on a rusty
foot pedal, Phil Lesh leaping in front of
Kreutzman during a jazzy drums and bass solo,
and Bob Weir stepping timidly to the microphone after a long, haunting jam."

Blind John Davis - Annie Lou Breakdown
Blind John Davis was an accomplished session pianist who played on many seminal records in Chicago in the 30s and 40s and who was later a missionary of the Blues as it took root in Europe. John went blind at nine years of age and began playing piano in his father’s Chicago ‘speakeasy’ in the late 20s. His obvious talents brought him to the attention of Bluebird Records in 1938 where he cut several solo tracks, but it was his work on the records of John Lee ‘Sonny Boy’ Williamson, Tampa Red, Lonnie Johnson and Big Bill Broonzy that made his name. Outside his session work, John led his own small band on the vibrant Chicago club scene. In 1952 he joined Big Bill on his ground-breaking tour of Europe that did so much to spark interest in the Blues beyond America, and opened a new chapter in John’s career. John was a popular visitor to Europe over the whole of the rest of his life, and he cut several albums there, most notably ‘Stompin’ on a Saturday Night’, a live album recorded in Germany in 1976. John’s lilting voice and smooth piano style gave his Blues a sophisticated flavour, but when he played boogie-woogie he could really rock out. John was a strong performer on the Chicago club scene for the rest of his life, which came to an end in his hometown in 1985.

Neil Young - Sleep With Angels
Neil Young- Sleep With Angels (Rock am Ring 2005)
Neil Young knew that Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) had a drug problem, and when he learned that an overdose of Kurt had nearly killed him in Rome, he tried to get in touch through the usual channels. with the singer/guitarist. That probably didn't work out, but ironically enough, in Kurt's suicide note after his suicide, there was a quote from one of Neil's most famous songs Hey,Hey,My,my "It's better to burn out than to fade away."
Neil Young- Sleep With Angels (Rock am Ring 2005) There are many similarities between Danny Whitten (guitarist Crazy Horse) and Kurt Cobain , blonde hair, a tragic penchant for heroin, singer/songwriter/guitarist artist and dead before age 30. Dedicated to Kurt Cobain "Sleeps With Angels" She wasn't perfect She had some trips of her own He wasn't worried At least he wasn't alone Too late He sleeps with angels Too soon He's always on someone's mind He sleeps with angels Too late He sleeps with angels Too soon She was a teen queen She saw the dark side of life She made things happen But when he did it that night She ran up phone bills She moved around from town to town Too late He sleeps with angels Too soon He's always on someone's mind He sleeps with angels He sleeps with angels
Kurt Donald Cobain (February 20, 1967 - April 5, 1994) was an American singer-songwriter and musician, best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the grunge band Nirvana.
