The O'Jays are an American R&B group from Canton, Ohio, formed in 1958 and originally consisting of Eddie Levert (born June 16, 1942), Walter Lee Williams (born August 25, 1943), William Powell (January 20, 1942 – May 26, 1977), Bobby Massey (born 1942, Canton) and Bill Isles (January 4, 1941 – March 28, 2019). The O'Jays made their first chart appearance with the minor hit "Lonely Drifter" in 1963, but reached their greatest level of success once Gamble & Huff, a team of producers and songwriters, signed them to their Philadelphia International label in 1972. With Gamble & Huff, the O'Jays (now a trio after the departure of Isles and Massey) emerged at the forefront of Philadelphia soul with "Back Stabbers" (1972), and topped the US Billboard Hot 100 the following year with "Love Train." Several other US R&B hits followed, and The O'Jays were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004, and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005, and in 2013 they were inducted into National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame.

Misschien toch een wat onderschatte band Free,waarschijnlijk te wijten aan hun relatief korte bestaan.(1968-1973).Naar mijn mening onterecht,de prachtige stem van Paul Rogers,het gedegen drumwerk van Simon Kirk,de schitterende baslijnen van Andy Frazer en natuurlijk de lange intensieve solo,s van Paul Kossoff maken deze band een van de belangrijkste uit de jaren 70.
Mr Big ---- Het waren nog zeer jonge gastjes tijden hun eerst optreden in the Nag's Head pub in Battersea, London, op 19 April 1968.Andy Frazer 15 jaar,Paul Kossoff 17, en Paul Rogers en Simon Kirk waren beide 18 jaar.In het najaar van 1968 namen ze hun eerste album op ,de naam Free werd bedacht door bluesveteraan Alexis Corner
The Stealer---- Waren hun eerste twee albums Tons of Sobs en Free niet erg succesvol met, Fire and Water uitgebracht in 1970 - kwam daar verandering in.De single van dit album, "All Right Now",kwam op no1 UK rock music charts, op no2 UK singles chart, en op no4 in de US Billboard Hot 100 chart.Het betekende de definitieve doorbraak van de band.

Free ging in 1973 defintief uit elkaar. Rodgers en Kirk richten in datzelfde jaar Bad Company op.Andy formeerde de band Sharks en later The Andy Fraser Band,en Paul Kossoff begon een band onder de naam Back Street Crawler.

Tab Benoit (born November 17, 1967) is an American blues guitarist, musician, and singer. His playing combines a number of blues styles, primarily Delta blues. He plays a stock 1972 Fender Telecaster Thinline electric guitar and writes his own musical compositions. Benoit graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High School in Houma, Louisiana in May 1985. In 2003, he formed "Voice of the Wetlands," an organization promoting awareness of coastal wetlands preservation.
