Neil Young Like a Hurricane

A.S Zaterdag maar weer eens bij mijn oude vriend Old Grey Cat Neil Young op bezoek in het sportpaleis van Antwerpen.Om er alvast een beetje in te komen dit oude,maar wel hele mooie filmpje. Ik hoor net dat Admiral Frebee het voorprgramma is,maakt het nog leuker!


"Like a Hurricane" is een song van Neil Young uit 1975 en staat op het album American Stars 'N Bars uit 1977.

De song is geschreven na een zware avond doorzakken met zijn vriend en buurman uit La Honda Taylor Phelps op de achterbank van zijn auto, (een DeSoto Suburban), Door een operatie aan zijn stembanden kon Neil niet zingen dus floot hij de melodie.

Neil zei er zelf over:

"All it is is four notes on the bass. Billy [Talbot] plays a few extra notes now and then, and the drumbeat's the same all the way through... Sometimes it does sound as if we're really playing fast, but we're not. Its just everything starts swimming around in circles.

"We were all really high, fucked up. Been out partying. Wrote it sitting up at Vista Point on Skyline. Supposed to be the highest point in San Mateo County, which was appropriate. I wrote it when I couldn't sing. I was on voice rest. It was nuts - I was whistling it.
