All Along the Watchtower (Nürnberg, Germany, 24-April-2002)
All Along the Watchtower is een populair folkrock lied van Bob Dylan, uitgebracht op zijn achtste studioalbum John Wesley Harding in 1967.[1] Het is een rustig en eenvoudig nummer, bestaande uit drie akkoorden, gespeeld op akoestische gitaar, begeleid door een basgitaar en drums. Enkele intermezzo's op een mondharmonica vormen de enige variatie in het arrangement. De tekst staat centraal, in drie coupletten zonder refrein. Geen van de titels op het album werd uitgebracht op single, maar de plaat verkocht goed, werd vaak gedraaid op de radio en de kritiek was redelijk lovend.

Herman: There's a song on Shot Of Love, Every Grain Of Sand, which is about as a healing song as I ever heard from you. It's a beautiful, beautiful song.
Dylan: Oh, yeah, I wrote that last summer.
Herman: Is that what you mean by hopefully healing music?
Dylan: I would hope so.
