Child Song(1970)
Beautiful song and beautiful images from the 70s
Rush's impact on the American music scene is undeniable. He was one of the important figures in the folk world in the 1960s. He was also very involved in the folk revivals of the 1980s and 1990s. His music influenced many artists. James Taylor told Rolling Stone, "Tom was not only one of my early heroes, but also one of my main influences." Country music star Garth Brooks said Rush has been very important to his musical career. His first albums contained a lot of work by Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and James Taylor.
Driving Wheel
'One of my first LPs is Electra's triple compilation album, "'Fill Your Head with Rock""This was my first introduction to Tom
Tom Rush started his musical career in the early 1960s near Boston, where he also studied. Club 47 was the flagship of the Folk scene and Tom could be found there regularly. He performed there regularly and learned many of the legendary artists who played there. came to play. By the time he graduated he had already recorded two albums.
Tom Rush & Emmylou Harris
Rush has a talent for composing beautiful songs. Many of these songs have become true classics and are highly appreciated by a new generation of artists. Typical of his versatility is that his songs have become folk hits, country hits, heavy metal and rap hits
"No Regrets" became a hit in The Walker Brothers' version
.In the early 1970s, folk became more folk-rock and Rush decided to perform with a five-piece band. Endless promotion and television appearances, interviews, and recordings over a period of five very successful years took its toll and Tom Rush decided to retire for a time to his farm in New Hampshire.
Rush returned in 1981 to a sold-out Symphony Hall in Boston. Time had not affected Tom's music and the crowd embraced him again.
"Urge for Going "one of my favorite Joni Mitchell songs, this is a very beautiful performance.
Tom Rush felt that his audience was interested in his old and new music, and created a musical stage (just like Club47 in the '60s) to perform together with established and new artists. In 1982 he tried his hand at The Symphony Hall in Boston. The show became a great success and the Club 47 series was born. Artists such as Bonnie Raitt and Emmylou Harris performed there and then unknown names such as Alison Krauss and Mark O'Connor also participated.
In 1999, Columbia/Legacy released a Tom Rush compilation album with an overview of his music from 1962 to the present. Titled "The Very Best of Tom Rush: No Regrets," it includes a new Tom Rush composition "River Song," featuring guests Grammy winners Shawn Colvin and Marc Cohn.
"Remember Song",a song for men of my age, very recognizable.....

Heerlijk.
